The station in itself was fine. But the station manager i ended up with today was absolutely god awful. She was rude and dismissive about us trying to explain what was going on with the app. She did not listen at all. She also cussed another patron out. Will be using this station as little as possible from now on.
This is a nice metro station. I have used it multiple times and was satisfied with my experience each time. This station has multiple entries for different streets. One entrance is the National Mall or the other one is between the two Department of Agriculture buildings. I used both entrances, both were convenient. This station is a transfer point to the blue, orange, and silver lines trains. I give this metro station five stars and make sure you like if this was helpful
Quite chaotic during spring time vacation / holiday goers. I was here during cherry blossom peak and it was a mad house. The staff was herding people through the entry gates and exit gates like cattle! But it all kept flowing so they were doing something right. Look at the huge crowds of people waiting to get on the metro in my photos! Station seemed clean considering how much foot traffic it had. Photos as of March 2019.
Convenient location if you are heading to the Mall, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial/Korean War Memorial/WWII Memorial. Museums are easy to access from here too. It's just like other D.C. stations and I really don't like the fact that subway stations usually do not contain public bathrooms.

By DC Metro standards a pretty clean and nice station especially if your from New York. Convenient access to SOME of the museums. However some other museums like the Air & Space are closer to L’Enfant. Check maps to see which station is closest to the museum you want to visit so you can avoid walking more than you need to. Also this station is very busy at rush hour and during peak tourism months.
This station is conveniently located in DC near some of the Smithsonian museums. There are 3 lines that stop here blue, orange and silver, and there are multiple exits on different streets. There are signs making the station easy to navigate, and LED screens that show the arrival times for the next few trains. During the summer this station does get busy with tourists and people visiting the National Mall and Smithsonian museums.
Blue, Orange and Silver Lines run at this station. Located near the Washington Monument.
An older employee at the Smithsonian Metro Station on the Green line- Branch Avenue station side was very rude to me today around 6pm. I approached him saying excuse me sir. He continued to talk to his female coworker. I then said excuse me sir once again and when he finally looked. I then asked him how would I get to the Greenbelt side. He tells me “you have two feet. walk forward and take the escalator up.” characteristics of a smartmouth.
This station is quite empty on all weekdays. On weekends, you will see a couple people, but still not many. It's location on the National mall makes it very convenient. You can easily access the capitol, the Washington monument, and the World War II memorial. This station will be swamped during popular events and holidays, most notably at the peak of the cherry blossoms. Highly reccomend using this station to your full advantage.
