Great selection of hand-crafted tarts. I suggest the Lavender-Earl grey tea experience to whet your appetite for the artisanal voyage upon which you will soon embark: rose, pistachio, pickled cherry blossoms, saffron, passion fruit and many more flavours with which to delight.
i’ve had one very good baked item in this town, so i know it is possible. who knew that my area was comparatively much better at baking. these items were a flat three. texture in one was… poor. the other item was… ok. like, not worth the carbs.
I ordered two of Souk's pastry boxes and they were truly spectacular. I felt like I was getting what people eat at Michelin Star restaurants for a more affordable price... Creative pieces baked with careful thoughtfulness and high quality ingredients. I have since recommended these boxes over all of the others I have tried during quarantine! Bonus bc they brought me to the Capitol Hill area when I hadn't been in what felt like a year.
Great neighborhood spot! I'm obsessed with the Lavender Ginger Lemonade & I really enjoy the Lemon Tea Cake. I look forward to the time when we can go into the market post-COVID restrictions and look at the various spices that they sell as well.
My girlfriend just picked a sorted box of goodies from Souk and we are in heaven. They are practicing social distance, and their baked goods quality remains high more like amazing. *edited review - take out If you are looking for an amazing bakery in DC, look no further. From the flaky layers of a well made croissant, to the deep and foamy taste of a perfectly made americano - this place has it all. It really is an experience worthwhile.
Pastries and coffee were amazing. Staff was also so helpful, kind and accommodating - cannot recommend this bakery enough if you’re in the area.
Hot drinks are always luke warm. Staff is almost always short and rude. Orders take a very long time. Sometimes they will have signs indicating they are open during business hours listed online and ask you to ring a bell to notify staff you are there, only to be told they are closed after you have politely rung a doorbell and waited for a good while.
Voted Washington D.C.'s Best Fast Casual restaurant, we serve healthy, Israeli-inspired pitas and bowls. Our food is 100% plant-based and Kosher. Middle Eastern-inspired vegan sandwiches, dips, salads & snacks in a stylish, counter serve.
This was a "fresh breath of fresh air" for a small snack or lunch. Has many options. The vegan option roti is awesome...tasteful culinary experience. Black owned upscale herbal shop. They have several herbs and for apothecary you will find what you need here. Not pricey for a place thats not online and easily accessible.
Souk is dope. I like how now it's walk up to the window to place your order. I think that's pretty cool. The location great and they have small tables out front if you want to eat on the side walk. They have a variety of specialties and their breakfast sandwich was great. I'll definitely be returning to try the different drinks and the baked goods!
