Does anyone know why the pain clinic closed? I called to reschedule my appointment with Dr. Singleton three days before my appointment and, they told me i couldn’t because the office was closing. I had to scramble to find a new pain doctor. Not only did they not contact me to let me know this was happening but they also, didn’t help me find a new doctor. I could sue for malpractice and negligence. You can’t just stop the medicines he prescribed cold turkey, without titrating down because of the high dosages. It can cause death if not handled properly. I am very angry at how Doctor Smith and Doctor Singleton have handled my case and driven this once great pain clinic into the ground. Doctor Sheehan and Doctor Rollins were the greatest doctors and it’s so sad how the owners of the practice made them leave and left us with the other horrible doctors.
UPDATE.... The person who responded to my review said to please call or email them for further details. I emailed them and they have NEVER responded to me. Just an FYI. I had been seeing Dr. Rollins for the past 8 years or so and he was amazing. I started seeing Dr. Smith about a year ago and it has been hell. Without even talking to me and seeing how my current meds and treatments were working she immediately started force tapering me. I am a very compliant patient. Never missed an appointment and never failed a drug test. About a month or so ago I was at my ropes end with my pain so at my last appointment I asked her if she was going to take all of my oral meds and she said YES. That would leave me with only my pain pump. It barely touched my pain. She also told me at my first 3 appointments that she just needed to bring my meds down a bit to show compliance with the DEA she said if it was too much she'd put me back on my regular dose. Needless to say she did not. She's a liar! She is hands down the worst doctor I've ever seen. A pain management doctor who doesn't actually treat pain. Stay away from this doctor.
Dr. Stephanie Smith is absolutely AWESOME! Former doctor was pleasant, but was not managing pain well - which is not good for a "specialist". Dr. Smith introduced options that I had no idea were possible - even experiencing immediate pain relief. Her care and attention to detail are phenomenal. Oh and the new option to send narcotic prescriptions directly to the pharmacy? What!!!! This was possible? Nice to see the office get some hi-tech upgrades. Never understood why the old office was fiddling with paper. 1 star missing from this review because the office staff are unable to keep up with the load - get them some help if possible.
My husband had been seeing Dr. Rollins for many years, than started care with Dr. Smith. I wasn't sure at first but honestly she has given the very best care in all 10 years of our Worker's Comp injury nightmare. She is the 1st & only Dr to take his many issues head on, seek to get answers and best laid plan of action. I truly thank her from the bottom of my !!! The staff have always been pleasant, not always easy to get communication through...but it does get addressed. They have a large amount of patients, hence sometimes a delay in communication. THANK YOU, DR. STEPHANIE SMITH for trying to give my husband back some of his life. I'm forever grateful!!!
I went a couple of weeks ago, and it was a long wait. That's because 1 provider was seeing pts that 3 providers used to see. I rescheduled, because I had some other things to take care of that day. I went back yesterday, saw the Dr, and was very impressed with her care and concern for me. She spent the needed time with me, to refill my pump, and discuss my medications and make sure they were working for me. I was really impressed with Dr Smith. I think she spent the necessary time needed with me, and probably every pt. Thank you!
Dr Smith is very nice and the office staff is as well. I’ve been going to this office for 12 years and I have always had a great service and care. I have recently noticed there is a longer wait time but that’s due to Dr Smith being the only doctor at this time. I do have confidence that things will work out soon and she’ll have some help. If your considering this office I give it a go. They really are good and will work a plan to help you in feeling better.
It's as important for a doctor to display a caring attitude for a patient, as it is to be able to use skill and modern medicine to alleviate the patient's pain. Dr. Stephanie Smith at Southeastern Interventional Pain Associates does just that! She is so capable of helping a patient feel better physically, but she also makes you feel that it's important to her that you feel better. I highly recommend Dr. Smith to everyone!
I have been a patient with SIPA since '16 when a doctor there consulted on one of my legal proceedings. Much like everyone else I was shocked when the previous doctors and NP were gone overnight and replaced with Dr Smith. Whom I have never seen. She repeatedly canceled and pushed back my appointment and each time I asked if she would still be able to submit my meds. I was anxious to be seen and figure out why the drastic cuts to medication to a patient she had never laid eyes on and who told me she couldn't find extensive records on me. This past month they went on vacation for a week, refused to fill my prescription till they see me and pushed my appointment out another 6 days. After trying to contact them over a dozen times documented, two trips to the ER, I have new cervical damage due to suddenly coming off my medication. I was told they would prescribe me something to help with discontinuation syndrome. Which they haven't yet. I take care of a terminal cancer patient, my ex-husband, and our my daughter who has the same genetic condition that led to his cancer. Needless to say we have spent a lot of time in the medical system and this is far and away the most jaw dropping treatment I have ever seen. I mean who pushes out appointments for life or death treatment and then uses not seeing a patient as an excuse for discontinuing treatment? Edit - 09/22/22 - I have now been diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy. Between the sneezing and vomiting I have had two discs herniated. Meanwhile a prescription for a drug that is no longer available and would be dangerous for me to take was called into a pharmacy. One that has nothing to do with what I am experiencing. The pharmacist thought it must of been a mistake. So far I haven't been contacted.
i have been going there for years with Dr Sheahan who is no longer there. The new people there are rude, uncooperative, do not explain their requirements before you get there. I got my copay refunded & did not see one of the new doctors. They now require a urine test which I had never been asked for before - since I couldn't produce one they told me to reschedule, I had no idea not to go to the bathroom before I went there. Poor communication & attitudes do not prepare patients for changes in the rules. Reschedule I did @ a different pain clinic. All SE need to do is communicate their needs so you can be prepared too produce a urine sample. Will never go back to SE Intervention Pain.
I was a former patient here, seen by Dr. Rollins. When the 3 health care providers were FORCED OUT ,I had no choice but to see Dr. Smith. It was the most unprofessional visit of my life. She scheduled me during her LUNCH! Then she criticized prior Doctor's to me. I was given Dr. Sheahans phone number by one of the patients in the waiting room. Thank you God, I was able to get back with him ....a REAL doctor!
