The bald light skin man with glasses at the cashiers office has always had an attitude problem. He seems miserable at work tbh. “Yes sir, no sir, thank you” doesn’t matter if you are polite, he is still stale and appearing annoyed that you want to pay in cash. Just poor customer service. Yes that’s right, students paying for a service that is education, are still customers. A simple your welcome would have been appreciated. Just affirms my speculation that you were annoyed you had to do your job and not afraid to show it. All he needs is more training. I’m sure he can improve

Update: Since my previous review in Dec 2017 new things have happened. When I transferred in I was told that my transcripts would be transferred in as well. You would think since this campus requested them from me 5 times they would have been read, well they were transferred in but never read. So I have spent the last 2 semesters retaking classes that I already have credit for. MONEY PAID OUT OF MY POCKET. What college request transcripts but does not read them? ONLY THIS ONE. Why was I NEVER ADVISED by an adviser on this? Someone told me that since the school was worse before the new President started a few years ago. Well, she is still not making employees do their job or train them properly.
Also, this school was in the dark for months about the Reconnect program and have finally caught up. I am actually disgusted that I have to attend this college for the reconnect.
There is still writing on the walls in the restrooms. There are still broken locks on the restroom doors. There are still lights outside that do not work. The employees are turning the elevators off in the middle of the day. I seen someone on crutches on the 2nd floor that was walking toward an elevator and the employee came out and said I just turned it off. There is still trash in the parking lots, craters in the parking lot by the ABC building. When it rains and you walk across campus wear rain boots because the engineer/developers designed a campus with slopes in the wrong places.
Financial aid, how does it take 8 months for them to look over your account? You have had the application for 8 months.
The only positive I have and I did not address in the first review is the professors. They are helpful and care.
Previous: I have attended several community colleges in several different states. I must say this college has the absolute worst Advising department. First, you will not have the same adviser the following semester because they are no longer working there. Which is disappointing because you feel comfortable with someone and then you have to start over with someone new. Since my original adviser left, I have not found one that I am comfortable with or that is helpful. When I contact my adviser about registration questions I am told that I was not advised by them to take that course. Well, sometimes things change and you should be able to answer my question on why I cannot register for the class. Also, there is usually only on adviser working when registration starts. I should be able to register myself online without having to go speak to someone every semester and without a pin number. It's ridiculous, a waste of time, and the first time I have ever had to deal with that. I have had to contact the school each semester to have my out of state tuition charges taken off. If someone registers the first week registration comes up, then I should not have to pay for my classes weeks before the other people decide to register. Everyone should pay at the same time. Everyone that works in the Financial Aide, Cashier office, or any department you need to speak to to help you is unprofessional. Apparently you are bothering them while they are being paid to help you aka their job. My tuition does make your paycheck. I would appreciate a smile, or encouragement for paying to attend your school. if I take the summer off, I should not have to repay and application fee since it was the summer off. I was on a payment plan and after being paying the payment plan was advised that I still owed the full amount for the semester. The campus itself really needs some TLC. In the Ferris building restrooms the toilets get stuck and overflow. In the MAC ABC building restrooms people write on the walls and the doors in the stalls. In the Whitehead building I walked in on a professor in a restroom stall because the lock does not work. There is constant trash, and food all through out the parking lots. There are several lights on campus that do not work outside. It's disappointing for a college I pay money to to be so neglected.

My experience at Southwest was okay when I attended (for only a small amount of time). You have people that want to help verses those who's there for just a check and to look good. Financial Aid person was very thorough and nice, even my counselor was nice. It turned into a nightmare because some guy they hired had my info mixed with someone else, charge me for out of state when I was staying in the city memphis. The school itself needs updating as far as using your ID card to purchase your books, some of the staff was ghetto, unprofessional. Their was a lot of procrastination when it came to getting a chromebook and purchasing books. I left and attended Northwest in Senatobia, MS. Northwest is GREAT!!!! 20 thumbs down to this school....

The girl at the cashiers office was very rude and also wanted to charge me close to 400$ for things that have already been paid
