Speck’s Records & Tapes is a family-run, neighborhood record shop.

These days, it seems that there are infinite ways to seek out and educate oneself in music. At Speck’s, we believe in the power and personal touch of the local record shop — a place where the conversation never stops, where unearthing new gems is possible, where familiar faces navigate the dense musical seas alongside you.

Speck’s is a place to discover, rediscover, and absorb music. As a family, our lives have been very much shaped and defined by the ways we shared, created, and surrounded ourselves with music. We want to extend that same passion and enthusiasm to our customers, as well as learn from them.

Music enables many levels of connection and socialization — it’s a vehicle for our senses, our memories, and our emotions. Our goal at Speck’s is to celebrate that power with our neighborhood, whether it’s through sales, live / special events, or just listening together.

We specialize in used vinyl and cassettes, across a wide range of genres, eras, regions, and tastes: rock, pop, R&B, soul, jazz, hip hop, metal, dance, electronic, disco, eccentric, eclectic, obscurities, experimental, independent, soundtracks, international, and more…

In the near future, Speck’s will also carry an ever-evolving, hand-selected assortment of music-related products: audio equipment and accessories, clothing, art, musical gear, and much more.
