St James Catholic Church

It's a shame that there's only this cathedral nearby the Davis campus. There are a lot of catholic students that look for a place to go but don't want to go here so they end up not really doing anything on sundays. They offer a lot of events and things for college students (their affiliated college ministry is called Newman and they have something every night). but still they have trouble holding onto the college students. I've seen a lot of friends who went a couple times but didn't like the atmosphere there and didn't feel like the lessons they were learning were applicable to their life of faith today. Same sentiment here. Hoping we get some good churches in the area for both Catholic and Christians believers

Found this place online because I was looking for a church to attend and I was completely lost and confused. I had no idea what was going on and no one had the courtesy to help me out. I guess I thought people would be nice enough to offer a hand and I had more expectations for a church especially if one is new. It was not a good experience at all.

I don't know about all of you, but I had a bad experience at this church. I know that this is the only Catholic church in the area but I feel like that still doesn't give it the excuse to not teach the bible. Many of the members here are very hypocritical and exclusive if you go to other churches. Sorry felt like one of those possessive controlling parents that force you to go to church.

Really nice church and really friendly people. Fr. Joshua is super cool and friendly. Very welcoming church. Right now, the church has some roof and a problems, so masses are held in the gym. So, don't be surprised, but at least it's nice and cool.

This Catholic Church lacks the Holy Spirit and preaches hate.
