A really wonderful gem of a cemetery! Located just by Leyton station on the central line and in a quiet residential area, it’s easily accessible and well kept. It appears to be divided in to certain areas a some parts are well kept and others have been left to become over grown, which I actually really enjoy! Some unusual stones and structures which are quite interesting and I’d like to know more about them. Good clear paths and generally peaceful with few other people in there...except for the buried of course! Worth a little wonder if you’re in the area. Nice views of the city as well.
Large Roman Catholic cemetery in east London. Lots of graves and memorials of all sizes crowded in - so I’m guessing this has been in use for quite some time. Can be difficult to move between the graves, particularly for the less mobile, as some are so close together. There is small, well maintained toilet block for visitors. Generally well maintained and clean.
Lovely, peaceful and quiet. Great place to escape reality and the noise of London. This cemetery is very large, but it's divided in sections and has easy to use paths. A few minutes from Leyton underground station Central Line.
Very Peaceful, I visited here to look for a headstone, I called at the office to enquire about a map to help me, and they could not have been kinder or more helpful, providing me with a map of the cemetery, a look at a burial register and also providing a guide to show me where I needed to go, excellent service and much appreciated as it would have taken me a long time to find what I was looking for without their help. Thank You
It's was all so much good for the biggest family and friends get together for paying my respect to my aunty Dorothy Cecilia cuffy who was laid to rest on Thursday afternoon.
The gentleman who runs the cemetery is a wonderful chap very understanding and accommodating, you can ask him any question and he will answer with sincerity and kindness, he wouldn't even judge you if you had to add a headstone a few years later, so you can rest assured he will help you with ease. As for the cemetery itself it is well kept after and has a welcoming presence about it, yes it is peaceful but it is also very pretty and despite having a railroad running along the back of it the regular trains are no intrusion at all. I find it a great place to escape to when you want fresh air and a moment to read a book while sitting near your loved ones.
My Great-Nan and Nan are buried here. I miss her so much but know she's at peace. Beautiful peaceful place to visit
We contacted the cemetery and the very helpful staff gave us much help and advice, rare in today’s society. When we visited we were met by John who once again could not have been more helpful. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone at St Patrick’s. Josie and John.
Very special place to pray and remember our beloved deceased in East London. It is the historical Catholic cemetery under strict observance of Catholic priests. The Traditional Holy Masses for the deceased are being celebrated in the nearby little chapel. I spent the whole day exploring the monuments and praying. Many outstanding priests, bishops and common people from the past centuries and nowadays are resting here. The love to them, expressed in many different ways goes through centuries. Past and present, life and death intermingle listening to the sounds of the swiftly passing by trains and seeing the people, hurrying occupied by their daily problems. Seemed, that I was on the threshold of something really big and mysterious!...
Forty odd years keeping head stone clean and its in very good nick. Clutch fluid and bleach is what i have been using and proof is in the pudding. Many regards Bill swan
