The food is always warm and delicious but the service is horrible. I wait in line forever and I end up getting the wrong thing. Also, the same women is there every time I go and she is so rude! She rolls her eyes at me and doesn't greet me and never tells me my total, she just puts her hand out and waits for my card. PLUS their blueberry scones are very dry and not flavorful at all.
The location is a franchise of sorts operated by Sodexo, the food service intermediary working on contract for the university. As a result, the service is not and will never be up to Starbucks's standards. This is less about the quality of the food & beverages, and more to do with the quality and friendliness of the servers. I personally have only had to deal with slow service, but that could happen at any time during a rush. The worst stories come from others; I have heard of them not even offering a cup of water for security detail at events. At other foodservice locations in the same building and operated by the same company, not even students are charged for that. It's a pretty good summary of the apathy and disregard the employees have for their customers. Another critical issue is that this location doesn't accept Starbucks's own rewards program, which is extremely annoying after having signed up for the program just for the convenience of the location being in the same building that I work for. I've personally made a resolution to never purchase another item at this location again.
The staff was polite but the drink was terrible. I had order a basic mocha frappuccino, but it was so water down i thought I was drink bitter water. The croissant was good. You can't mess that up.
I waited in line for at least 20 minutes. I ordered a caramel ribbon crunch. I got ice blended coffee. There’s no caramel, and there wasn’t any whipped cream. I asked if they were out. They had just assumed i didn’t want it. They put the whipped cream on for me, but failed to add the crunchy topping. It’s horrible and the service was not friendly.
I was at UAB for the Science Olympiad event, and went in with a couple of friends. I wanted to try the Cherry Mocha Frappuchino and when I ordered, the lady working was somewhat rude and said, “No, I’m not making that because I’m here alone.” When there was only four of us in there and two people sitting and eating at a table. I went back later and got one when two people were working and she still acted annoyed about it.
Chanel is the greatest barista of all time. I'm here every morning at 7am. The manager is a nice guy too. Good service. Good coffee. What else do you want from a Starbucks?
One of the worst Starbucks I have been too. Several machines are constantly down, staff forgets to fulfill orders, and when they do remember it takes forever.
Staff is always super friendly and my food/drink orders are always correct and tastes great!
Excellent customer service. I wasn't aware of something and they explained their food products to me.
Some days they accept only UAB identity cards as method of payment.
