I went thru the drive Thru and the customer service experience was HORRIBLE! Not in the least bit friendly I asked for ketchup the guy handed me 3 after ordering 2 double steak burger meals asked for more ketchup and was given one more packet like is this a joke? Our drinks barely had any ice and our Pattie’s weren’t even made properly. It’s a shame because I used to love steak and shake burgers this place has really gone down hill! I wonder who is running this place because they should be ashamed of how horrible it is!
The lady working the drive thru is working a mile a minute and I was the only one in line. Didnt give me a price for my order or receipt or a straw for my drink. She opened the window really fast. Barely had time to ask for ketchup. And on top of that my sandwich is as flat as a pancake.
Ordered curbside via their app. Arrived and tried to call per instructions on app and on signage. No answer for 5min so I went through driveup to let them know was there and got yelled at -they "don't have a phone". So... I end up going back to curbside spot to wait. Told by an employee at curbside spot that I'm supposed to come inside to pick up the curbside order which would be carryout not curbside, no?. They also told me at the window that they done carry the flavor of milkshake we ordered in the app and did we want another flavor. Them acted irritated that i had to take 10sec to call and see what flavor the others wanted. The phone number in the app and on the signage is the same number in my order email and on Google for that location. We stopped coming to this location several years ago after a horrible customer service experience but my nephew is in town and wanted it because they don't have Steak n' Shake where he lives now.
Went on a Sunday night 1st time at this location and it most likely will be my last the prices are crazy high and no personal connection to get food only using a kiosk to order and when you never use them and screw up no refunds no service to explain the situation ! Save your money and go to a Dairy Queen or an A&WFood: 1/5
I am reconnecting with your store since I moved to a new house. The first visit was fantastic! I ordered a meal for myself and a sandwich for my dog. The lady was so sweet and gave me ice cream for my dog which we really enjoyed! Today, I knew I was busy, so I went through your drive through again. I ordered the same thing. I ordered, and the person repeated quickly. I am hard of hearing. When I got to the window, I said that I was not sure I had been correct. The server blew the order to me! I only thought I may have been wrong. She meanly repeated my order! She took my card and shoved it back to me. I just want to establish a new relationship with your company for myself and my dog. I hope you will recognize the difference in your employees, because if I encounter the same impatience and mean encounter, I won’t be back!
This was one of the best Steak n Shake locations I've ever been to. I don't eat meat so I get their grilled cheese, which usually ends up having little flakes of beef I have to flick it pull off, but this location took the time to clear a section of the grilltop to cook the grilled cheeses on. Both were perfectly cooked, our shakes were each outstanding, and the girl at the window was so sweet about my dog they even gave him some whipped cream. I'll pass my local location to go to this one! Vegetarian options: The grilled cheese is awesome!
This used to be my favorite place to get fast food, but it has gone down in quality significantly. The people working are rude and cut you off when you are talking. The shakes are not as good as they used to be. The food was fine but with the new no contact in store model, I had to go fetch the food myself. Even at McDonalds they bring you the food. I went with my mother who told me the bathroom was unusably filthy. I used the drive through before and got rude service then as well, so this will be the last time I go to Steak and Shake.
I normally don’t leave reviews for chains since they’re about the same at every location, but the experience at this particular SnS was so memorable and poor that I just have to write about it. TL;DR: employees got into a huge fight in the kitchen and kept giving us other customers orders mistakenly for almost an hour. Still didn’t get it right when we left. Only car in drive-thru. Full version: Came here one evening about a week ago and ordered two combos, nothing else. Employee at speaker kept cutting me off after each item saying “pull forward” after an initial long silence. Another voice came on the speaker later, made me repeat the whole order, and also kept cutting me off after every word. We get to the window and wait 10 minutes before someone ever comes to cash us out. 15 minutes go by after being cashed out. They give us a huge bag of food that does not contain even 1 item from our order. I pull back around and hand over the incorrect food. The employees inside then get into a huge 4-way yelling match, throwing and slamming items in the kitchen the whole time. Everyone present stormed off and did not return for several minutes. It was tempting to just go back there and make my own food when it was void of workers. When everyone returned, the manager? came to the window and asked what I had actually ordered. I started to speak but was cut off after the first word. She said “I got you” and ran into the kitchen. Several more minutes go by and an employee appearing to be heavily afflicted by methamphetamine or heroin came to the window. He asked what we ordered and I told it to him one item at a time. Unfortunately that was too much for his short term memory. He would forget what I said after turning to the register to punch it in. It took us a few minutes to establish that I wanted 2 combos, that’s it. After all that, they still gave us the wrong food. No word from Steak N Shake corporate on a refund after more than a week. Get it together guys.
Cashier was nice but the girl that handed me my food literally threw the bag in my face pretty much with a huge attitude and when I said thank you she slammed the window shut. I have no idea what I did wrong to her but with this being one of the few steak n shakes left in the area, they need better employees before this one is next to shut down.
This location has gone to the serve yourself model. At this location it was not working very efficiently we waited quite a long time for our order when the restaurant was not that busy. The lady handing the food out was not very friendly. On a positive note all of the food was delicious and we received the food as ordered Parking: Ground level parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Other than the double doors going into the restaurant there is no problem bringing it wheelchair
