Stillwater Police Department

I used to work in the department and now work with an organization that deals with this department. Chief doesn't care about any Domestic Violence situation whatsoever, which makes it harder for the cops in the department who really do care. The young officers start out very passionate but this department soon wears them down.

If I could give them 1 star a million times I would. The only thing they like to do is write tickets to college students

Officer Smittle is a caring and opened minded police officer. I can say I don’t like cops, but this man is a caretaker. He thinks of people and their well being. Definitely makes a difference in not only mine, but my kids life as well. Thanks Smittle!

This department should be ashamed. They are a bigger threat to the well-being of students than anything I've seen since I came to Stillwater. If you are pulled over, you will get a ticket (which you cannot fight) whether you are guilty or not. I was recently pulled over and ticketed for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign- which I have no evidence to overturn- and the officer also cited me for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle for pulling over onto a side street less than 10 seconds after he turned his lights on. It's pretty obvious that this department is built around achieving quotas, even if they have to make up charges. Luckily, I'm moving away from this depressing town soon and I won't have to live in fear of going broke from getting yet another indisputable petty traffic citation. People in this town have enough to deal with already, and this department certainly isn't any help. I genuinely wish I could give 0 stars.
