I had to come update my review! I'm now a real regular and they just launched a new menu of delicious breakfast items that you really can't get in this area anywhere else. Also, a whole new lunch menu with delicious salads and five delicious new sandwiches. Plus this month's fall donuts are just to die for. They always have one special donut every month that's a fundraiser and this month it's helping animals, and it's a lemon glaze so go get that! But if you're in the area don't miss this place for breakfast or lunch! The coffee drinks are still a little weak, but if you're just looking for coffee or tea to go with your donut you're all good. Definitely becoming a cornerstone of the local food community!
Great coffee and donuts! Clean and neat location. Lots of options to please any palette.
I loved this place, new brand, good space, fast and energetic customer service, the coffee is DELICIOUS, honey and Mocca are the best for me. They have so many products in the store, mugs, coolers, coffee beans, cold beverages, etc etc A wide variety of vegan and gluten free food, also high chairs, tables for four outside, is really comfortable this space, I really like it and would come back again.
I have been visiting Elizabeth’s Counter since late 2020. I fell in love immediately with the customer service and menu options. So why am I leaving a 2 star review? It seems within the last 6 months things, possibly management, have changed. Hours are very strange offer lunch options but stop serving food at 1:45pm. Even though closing is at 2pm, donut options have declined flavor options and quality. Had the driest apple fritter to date a week ago. Let’s not mention the sugar overload in some options., and customer service has take a hit. Hopefully Elizabeth’s can turn back to what it was a year ago. Unfortunately, we will not be visiting twice a week like we have in the past.
Best vegan donuts in the DMV by far. Better than donut run which is super overhyped. The texture is perfect—fluffy and not dense or greasy. And they deliver. Order came quickly and they gave extra donut holes. 10/10.
The vegan donuts ARE AMAZING! The best I’ve ever had. Fluffy and not dense. Lots of flavor! **update: just stopped by for burger and fries since they switched from Sugar Shack to EC— HANSON’s burger and the loaded fries were AMAZING!!!!! I am so grateful to have vegan options that are so dang good.
EC's a nice little coffee shop in Old Town Alexandria. Cute decor, chill Cafe Vibe and lots of options for delicious pastries and Coffee drinks! Visited in Early November and enjoyed the experience. Server wore masks and all the seating was spaced out so you had room to social Distance.
I am thrilled to have Elizabeth’s Counter as a vegan option in Alexandria. While moving apartments last week I joked that my diet was fueled by EC as I ordered from them a minimum of three times. Food is A+ comfort foods and the no-contact pick up is a breeze. They have some gluten-free options as well From donuts to sandwiches this place is incredible!
Local gourmet donut shop in Old Town. I make sure to take anyone visiting from out of town here. Their blueberry donut is my absolute favorite, but it's not always in stock. They have pretty amazing coffee as well. They have long hours, so it's always a nice and slower early in the morning or late at night. The weekends are pretty packed with families and tourists, but for what you get, it's worth the wait. There's a speakeasy inside as well, which makes the place even greater knowing it has a hidden gem that few are aware of.
The Phoenix sandwich was ok and I believe it is a vegan option. The breading wasa little soft likely due to being in a box for the 10minute drive home. The slaw on the sandwich seemed like it was yellowed lettuce slathered in veganaise, which was the part that turned me off to it. The fries were tasty and the aoli was really good. Overall I'd try it again but will likely eat it shortly after it's made to see if it's better. Had one donut so far and look forward to the other 5 over the next couple days. Definitely check this place out if you are looking for vegan or vegetarian options or if you just want something a little different.
