One of the best baklava I had in the bay area. Not dry like the ones you would find in regular stores, this was soft and sweet. The pistachio ones were sweet for my liking, loved the walnut and dates baklava. The cookie roll kinda thing stuffed with dates was also awesome. The zaathar was awesome,my wife said it was the closest to the ones shed had growing up in the middle east . The beef pie was mediocre. Super helpful staff clarifying questions and helping you choose. They also carry fresh hummus, babaganoush etc. Looks like they also make bulk orders for events, enquire at the counter.
I had my eye on this place for ages, based on the race reviews and high ratings. They tend to close fairly early, so I didn't get the chance to make it in. I was finally able to make it out to this place... They were also out of a few thing when I got here, not a good start... Baked goods: ~ Zaatar & Cheese Pie - 3.5/5 I'm not sure what a Zaatar is... but this pie is like a thin pizza flavored with herbs. I thought I tasted a Oregano and Thyme a fair bit. ~ Chicken Pie - 3/5 It just OK for me. Difinitely edible, but nothing special or outstanding about the "pie. " It's also small. At $4.75 for a tiny pie that's just OK, I'll pass on it the next time. I'm curious about the Beef version. ~ Potato Pie - 3/5 This was also OK. Nothing special, I added hot sauce to it when I ate it. I'm not sure what the high ratings and rave reviews are about, perhaps I picked up the wrong items. I wouldn't make an effort to come here again, I'd stop by if it was convenient.
Closing business in two weeks - 10/15/22 So hit them up before then Specialty Bakery - traditional fair - some spicy falafel too…. The Spinach Cheese Pie was my favorite this time
I had the stuff falafel sandwich, extra zaatar pie bread, and the sfeeha pie bread. All of them are made with fresh ingredients and are delicious.
Wow! Amazing! Best baklava I've ever had. Picked up an assortment for Christmas and everyone that I gave it to remarked on what a wonderful thing it was. Can't believe I've lived here all my life and just found out about this place A+++++
This bakery has a little bit for everyone: sweet, savory, spicy & basic options, but above all a lot of taste! The staff is amicable, they double-check your order and make sure you don't have questions about the products. I ordered: Stuffed spinach a tender crusted hand pie filled with spinach and onions Sfeeha a tender flat bread crust, topped with a thin layer of a spiced beef patty Stuffed beef hand-formed pie filled with seasoned ground lean beef and peas Stuffed Potato soft baked roll filled with a spiced potato and sauteed onion filling Stuffed Cheese a mild and cheesy blend of mozzarella and feta baked into a savory pocket pie Cheese & Zaatar flatbread topped with our Cheese blend mozzarella/feta on 1 side, and Zaatar on the other Everything was delicious, I didn't order sweets because I already had a lot in my hands but I'm going to come back for more!
Homemade baklava and meat filled pastries. You can't go wind with anything you purchase. Was a tasty treat and a reminder set of the neighborhood I lived in Chicago. My favorite was the cheese filled pastry warmed up in the oven for about ten minutes. Was nice and gooey and just a touch salty that went really well with the flaky crust.
The food is good, but service is the worst out of any place I’ve been to and here is why: - you walk in a no one at the register and I have to stand there for 5-10 minutes for someone to show up. - Food availability is not consistent regardless to time or day. 90% of the time they have nothing to offer. - If I ask for a sandwich or something, I’ll always get the answer “but we will have to make it for you”. I thought that’s how any food place would operate. It takes forever to prepare something and sometimes they would get the wrong order. - staff is not experienced and I had to pay for things I didn’t purchase multiple times. Again, love the food and love to support a Palestinian cafe, but I don’t know if I’m missing the concept of this spot or something. They don’t seem to care about walkins and maybe catering is their main thing? I hope they can fix their service.
Small bakery with 2-3 table to sit n eat. Staff is amazing and super falafel pita bread factory made fresh . They have amazing baklava and they are famous for their deserts. While eating saw so many people taking pita bread and deserts Togo. All in all good place with limited menu items but cooked very well
In A Nutshell: -Wow, how did I not find out about Sultan Bakery for all these years?! -Best falafels I've ever had. -Super crispy & dark brown outside, super moist & fluffy green inside. -Choose between plenty of rolls & baklava. -They bake/make all of their products onsite, cut out the middleman... -Which make prices are very affordable. Overall, I'm already looking forward to their Stuffed Chicken!
