Came during the week to grab a couple cake slices and decided to also grab a 7-layer bar which was really sweet. The carrot cake and tropical coconut cake were fantastic. Really appreciate the fact that you can buy by the slice as well. Customer service was great and quick to complete my order. Establishment was clean. Plenty of parking around
We ordered chocolate cupcakes, coconut vanilla and gluten free chocolate cupcake. The frosting was extremely sweet and gluten free cupcake was extremely hard! I would not try it again.
SusieCakes has a decent variety of cupcakes and cakes. The overall presentation was also well. Wait times are decently fast less than 10-15 mins and the service is good quality. Alongside that, the establishment is clean and welcoming. Although, like a few others have mentioned, we got the celebration cake. Although the cakes had a small description saying it was buttery, it was definetly more than I expected. The same goes with the frosting, it was pretty dense and the bread hardened once a few hours passed. When put in the refrigerator, the cake hardened even more. Regardless of these mild inconveniences, there should be a more detailed description or information about the cakes so we can have a better idea of how sweet they are. *If you have a sugar tooth then this would probably be great for you :
If you are in a mood for a cupcake, this is one of the best choice in San Jose area . All time favorites red velvet , vanilla vanilla & chocolate chocolate are really yummy. Also their seasonal specials are a must try.We haven't tried cakes, but the place had really tempting cakes
Decided to surprise my partner with the Vanilla Confetti cakeand it was definitely NOT worth it. WAYY too overpriced $54 for the smallest size and not eatable. I took one bite and wanted to throw up from the amount of sugar it had. I left it to thaw out like they said, but it was super chewy and cold. Definitely not recommending this to anyone, save your money!
We got a buttercream frosting cake for new year. It sat out for 8 hours today Dec 31 and it fell off of its own weight before 11:15 pm : the cake was so shallow inside and none of the slices that we cut after it crumbled by itself were in shape, all became mushy : so disappointed.
Let me start by saying that i love Susie Cakes cupcakes, they're delicious and the perfect size. I've never had a problem with them and always come back for more. But with that being said, DO NOT purchase the birthday celebration confetti cake! For my sister's birthday this year we decided to get the confetti cake and it was a huge disappointment. It was terribly sweet and incredibly dense. I have never had to press down on a knife so hard before to cut into a cake. The frosting was very sweet and the cake itself was chewy and almost felt undercooked. One bite was enough for me to put the fork down and throw the rest of my slice away. Im sorry to say that it was worse than any grocery store cake I've ever had. I personally think that a Safeway cake would have been 100x better- not to mention cheaper. I hope that the other full sized cakes sold at susie cakes aren't like their celebration cake, but please save yourself the trouble and get something else.
Worst chocolate cake and carrot cake I ever had; all sugar!! I couldn't taste chocolate or carrot. Cupcakes were good; just simple vanilla cake. Although, the red cake was not red velvet, but red color added to vanilla cake.
The whoopie pie is delicious, I couldn't eat it in one sitting it's so large and rich. The cupcakes are delicious as well. Staff friendly. I enjoyed my visit and my sweets! The decorations on the cakes were also pretty impressive.
Cakes are very buttery and very sweet. They are not having a good texture and the butter is oozing with every bite.... Would not recommend if you are looking for a fine cake with high quality. And price is very much for such a low quality cake.
