I decided today I will no longer shop at this store!!! The manager Michael is very rude and very disrespectful doesn’t know how to treat customers. They had a big sign for coconut water 4 for 5 dollars. But the cashier said regular price. Store manager Michael was right there and I took him to all the way to the back of store to show him the sign. He took out the sign right away and said it was old sign he can’t give me on sale price. His job is to take out the sign from the floor when it’s expired. He wasn’t even apologized for that. He was so unprofessional and disrespectful and doesn’t know how to speak English. It was just Waste my time. . This experience left me feeling sick and utterly helpless. He is holding the big sign on his hand in the picture………
It is the worst experience ever. The prices of the products are very exaggerated compared to the Makkah Market store located next door
At least there's Grocery Outlet in the neighborhood now. Hopefully Supremo will close and something useful can go on the site, like a landfill. Three strikes: 1 last year i bought a bag of frozen salad shrimp for the cat. When it thawed I immediately discovered it was rotten: expiration date was more than two years earlier. Thing is, even shrimp past its expiry shouldn't be rotten if it'd stayed frozen - Supremo doesn't keep their cold products at temp. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. 2 case in point: last month I tried to buy orange juice, but the OJ section was clearly above 40. I worked grocery for years. There should be sensors and alarms for this. 3 tried to stop by tonight at 8:45 having learned my lesson, for NONPERISHABLES only. Dude standing at the door said they were closed supposed to be open 'til 11. I won't be back.
Do not park here unless you want to deal with tow truck scammers! They towed my car the moment I stepped away after checking out. The tow truck drivers are like snipers, waiting to tow your car immediately. I was gone for just 5 minutes, and my car was already on their truck. They only take cash and won't accept credit cards. The receipt they gave me didn't have a serial number. TOTAL SCAM! They won’t leave the lot and will rush you to pay cash, threatening to double the fee if they tow your car away. I was forced to pay cash. Calling the cops didn’t help because they said it’s private property. Angelina's Towing is behind this scam. I will never return and will warn everyone I know.
"My 80 year old father who has been living on s. 43rd street for almost 60 years went to Supremo today to buy groceries. He parked right outside and was heading in when he saw an old friend. He stopped to talk to his friend in the shade under a tree in the parking lot. A few minutes later, he noticed a tow truck had his van and was driving away with it. My father ran to stop him and the tow truck driver refused to let his van down unless he paid $175 cash. My father had his grocery list in his hand with Supremo written on the top of it. The tow truck driver did not care nor did the manager at Supremo. The tow truck company is contracted by Supremo and sits in their lot all day. If they see you park and not go directly into the store, they tow your car. This is predatory, wrong, and stealing from community members."
They spend more money having tow trucks monitor their lot than actually taking care of their store. I don’t know if/when the owners changed but any snacks purchased here, I’ve learned to check the dates on. It didn’t use to be like that.
If I could give it a 0 star, I would. This place has mice and prices are so ridiculously high. The store truly makes the neighborhood disgusting due to the lack of proper trash disposal. Not only that, the new owners are the absolute worst with how unreasonable they are about the use of the parking lot. They are so quick to tow your car. The towing company they utilize also continuously breaks traffic rules by speeding down one-way streets in the wrong direction, which endangers the members of the neighborhood. I wish the entire neighborhood would boycott this horrible business and send them packing. A store that is meant to be convenient for the neighborhood and the community goes out of their way to be vindictive to the people who have supported them all these years.
"DON'T GO HERE unless you want your car towed. You can't even park for a minute after checking out. They have tow trucks monitoring you and will tow your car immediately. I left for 5 minutes, and they had my car on the tow truck, demanding cash only. They refused to accept card payments, and the receipt didn’t have a serial number. SCAM! They wait for you to return and rush you to pay cash, threatening to double the fee if they tow your car away. They made me pay $200. DON’T GO HERE. I’m never coming back and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place."
Worst supermarket I have ever been. The registers refuse to recognize the prices they put on the labels, even after I show them the photos of the labels. Poorly trained staff who don’t know what to do either.
I've been coming here for 20 years and I just had to walk out cuz the bleach was SO strong that I couldn't breathe! Bleache is extremely damaging to your lungs...it was awful. I came back last week to grab something and had to walk out again. Just now 6/12/24 I tried again and couldn't even get in the door. I'm never trying again... this is every day and wasn't random.
