Sur La Table

This is a classic example of a store that’s gotten “too big for its breeches.” The products themselves are very good at the store, however the knowledge is essentially like going to a very high priced Walmart of kitchenware. I always go to this store to find the highest end kitchen supplies for weddings and significant birthdays, but upon asking for a diamond steel knife sharpener, I had a sales person who had no idea what kind of “knife” I was looking for (when I consistently stated it was a sharpener). I find the knowledge at the store to be more akin to that of a Walmart employee versus Verizon if, for example, one were looking for a mobile phone. They are not specialists in any area nor do they understand what inventories they’re currently carrying and what’s coming in next month (or even where you can get what you’re looking for). Everytime I go in this store, the girls are gossiping to each other, no one is walking around “working” and no one seems to know anything about the products. If you ask them they just say “yeah, this is a great product” but they don’t have any details as to what makes it better than getting it somewhere else or what makes it better than the thing sitting on the shelf next to it. You better know what you’re looking for when you go into this store.

Very helpful when trying to find basil oil! Friendly folks were offering coffee too!

A wonderful kitchen store! We have purchased several small kitchen appliances and kitchenware from here and the service has always been great. I always recieve great advice about the products.

Everything's pricy, but when you want great kitchen ware, that's what's expected.

Seriously all I need to say is that this "kitchen" store doesn't tell table cloths. How could a kitchen store not tell table cloths. I'm pretty sure everything in this store is breakable too. The thing I like about it is the cute cookie cutters. Everything else is meh.
