Sweat Glen Rock

I haven't been here in a while due to hectic work and family commitments, but I will tell anyone who cares to listen that this is the gold standard in spin studios and small-group training. I have tried three other small-gym/studio places in the Northern NJ area (Ramsey, Allendale and Ridgewood) and NONE come even close to the level of professionalism, the overall quality and the exceptional infrastructure provided by Jacqui and her team. The facilities are impeccably clean and well-maintained; the water, hand-weights and towels are laid out on the bike for you; the on-line booking/payment system NEVER crashes; the spin instructors are all uniformly great (if different in their styles) and the small group trainers BRUTAL. I thought I'd died and gone to spin heaven in Park Slope, Brooklyn, but since moving to New Jersey SGR more than compensates!

Last year, I set a personal goal to complete the 2017 Maratona dles Dolomites course in the Italian Alps. It's an 87-mile race with 14,000 feet of climbing -- way beyond anything I had done before. The Sweat studio was an essential part of my training, including their winter "power ride" sessions focused on building strength for outdoor road cycling. I completed the race earlier this month, which would not have been possible for me without the Sweat gang, including Michael, Christine, Sue, Anita, Jen, Blanca and Susan. Bonus -- the place is really well run by Jim and Jacqie. A real gem in Glen Rock.
