Taco Vista Island Bar & Grill is a Tex-Mex eatery serving casual Mexican fare in a scenic setting with beachy vibes. It’s located at 149 Carder Road, Governors Island, New York, NY. They’re open everyday from 11:30 am and close Monday thru Thursday at 5:00 pm and Friday thru Sunday at 6:00 pm. Great place right on the waterfront!
Drinks and the appetizers tasted great. Can have a nice view of the city and enjoy your meal.
Nice location on a sunny day. However the food is not good. The veggie tacos are often cold, with too many raw jalapeños. The veggie burritos have rice and vegetables, but no beans. It's the worst when the vegetarian option has no protein. I would recommend if you want 1 expensive margarita or beer, but not for food.
We came from Island oysters which was garbage. This spot is amazing though. Drinks were great. We got a quesadilla expecting a tiny one that you’d usually get at a spot now a days. It was huge and delicious. Everything is well worth the money. Come here instead!!
Really cool spots with an amazing vue. Great tacos, chips, guac was also really tasty. Also make sure to try the frozen margaritas, well worth the brain freeze.
Food was surprisingly good, the food took a while to come out but I guess it's because they we're cooking everything fresh. You can see them cooking everything to order
Tacos were alright but the burritos were horrible. For the expensive price I expected it to taste amazing but most of the food was bland. Just another tourist trap not worth it.
I’m glad it’s there, but the value could be better. The guac and chips isn’t something I’d buy again based on value, but the tacos and margaritas are nice. I’d give it 3.5 stars if an option, but it’s worth the time to head over a couple times a year.
