Tambo Peruvian Restaurant

Came on time for a 7 pm reservation, waited for an hour for water and over an hour for appetizers. I don't eat beef, and we were not warned that the chicken had been swapped out for beef empanadas. Somehow, despite the hour and a half wait, the paella came to us cold. No compensation offered and 20% gratuity added on automatically. The waitress was kind, clearly doing her best in an understaffed situation, and did give us a round of drinks, after being asked, after the meal. The manager was on vacation and apparently no adjustments could be made. With the drinks we had while waiting for our food, it became quite expensive. To top it off, we were there for a special occasion for a friend. Embarrassed to have suggested it. Food is well described in other reviews, but beware coming with others, saw a few first dates nearby go sour from the long hungry wait!

The food is excellent! The people who run the business are very nice. Warm environment.

Food was excellent, though you’ll probably want to order any meat at least a unit more rare than you normally would. Ribeye comes with a pretty stingy serving of absolutely phenomenal chimichurri. Service was awful. Couldn’t tell if it was institutional or just the one incompetent louse.
