This Target is fine for the basics and baby-related items. If you’re looking for clothing, it’s very sparse, especially in athletic wear. There are often a lot of things out of stock in the pharmacy/personal care area. That said, it is nice to have this within easy walking distance. A lot of the issues at this store simply have to do with its location on SE Powell, which has a lot of problems. The baskets are constantly stolen from this store, and I have noticed that they are replaced sometimes. I think they are just taken really quickly. The front parking lot is minuscule, but they have a lot of parking in the garage space behind the store, across from the Cleveland High School track. As far as loss prevention management, I am sure the staff are told not to intercept shoplifters because there are so many sketchy characters in the area, and the outcome could be dangerous. I have always had positive interactions with the staff and never had issues using their restroom, as other visitors have mentioned. Overall, this store does the job just fine, and you might even be pleasantly surprised sometimes.
This is a great location for those folks who need those one or two random small items. If you're looking for a full fledged Target for clothes shopping, etc this may not be the best location. We were heartbroken when this former bowling alley turned into a Target. But we really like how there are small tributes to the former Portland gem bowling ball decorations at the entrance, reusing the bowling alleys as ceilings etc. Hard working staff and a clean location too!!
This Target is good! Go here for the convenience necessities that you normally expect to find from them. Don't judge this fantastic store location by the big ones! Obviously, it's smaller but is quite stocked. That said, they have a lot and I take the family there frequently when we don't feel like navigating the traffic drama of a bigger location, and still get our Target basics satisfied.
It's a decent Target in my experience. Not amazing, but not terrible. The selection can sometimes be limited, but many of the basics are usually there. I've definitely been to some much nicer Targets so compared to them this is just 4-stars at best.
Used to be a bowling alley. There's parking below the store it's not just that tiny lot visible from Powell. Not a full-sized target at all, more of a neighborhood store. That said, they've had what I've needed most of the time. Sometimes there are less-than-pleasant folks hanging around the garage, so I try to be slightly cautious. Check-out is 90% self, with one or two small registers.
First of all, I will say the employees here are uniformly kind and try to be helpful. But this Target is almost comically bad. It is 50% out of stock most of the time, just empty shelves like Soviet Russia. Everything, particularly the clothing area, is a mess whenever I go in. Sometimes I give it a shot and try to get three items, and once in a while I can find one. I think the pharmacy is fine and the grocery section is cool if you like the worst snacks that no one else buys looking at you freeze-dried peaches. It would probably be more convenient for me if this store closed because then I wouldn't even spend the time trying to find anything there.
Popped in today to buy a gift card. The two employees up front legitimately did not know how to sell me one—deer in the headlights. So odd and somehow I felt bad for even asking. Ended up having to drive to a different Target. This place is almost comically bad and definitely feels more like a poorly-stocked/poorly-staffed drugstore than a Target.
This target has a little bit of everything but the size prevents it from reaching it's full potential as it a bit smaller then your average Target. The customer service is nice, though some shelfs may be empty...
I did not know a retail establishment could exist in the uncanny valley. And yet, here we are. I'm from Minnesota and I have strong opinions about Target. Target is my happy place. This is not a Target. This feels more like someone slapped a bullseye on a Walgreens. Let's start with the parking lot, it has space for maybe a dozen cars. Tiny. Also, you can only drive one direction through it, which is confusing. The building used to be a bowling alley, and the store has kept some of that aesthetic, which I actually like and is why I'm rating it 2 stars instead of 1. But a bowling alley is not big enough to house a proper Target. Every section is miniaturized, and lacks the assortment I expect from Target. I went shopping specifically looking for seasonal/holiday decor and this Target had basically none of that. I grabbed a cart when I walked in expecting to fill it like I normally do. But I walked through about half the store, got too uncomfortable and disappointed in the selection and left. Then I drove 20 minutes up to the good Target at Cascade Station and spent a bunch of money. TLDR: Don't go to this Target, you'll be disappointed.
This walkable neighborhood Target location has been my go-to shop throughout the Covid-19 quarantine. It's never crowded, clean, the staff is fantastic, and they always have Milk, eggs, produce, toilet paper, and more
