Ten Thousand Villages

Every year I do my Christmas shopping at local craft fairs or at a fair trade event. Since moving to Ann Arbor I am not restricted to buying fair trade on one day of the year but can support businesses around the world any day of the year. I was very impressed at the range of prices in the items available. And there were both predictable items as well as extraordinary/unique pieces. Whoever arranges the space has a keen eye for color and flow. The jewellery section is a perfect rainbow slowly seeping from one color to the next. There are clothes, instruments, food, chocolate, decor, etc to name a few. The staff are very helpful if you aren't quite sure where to begin. A wonderful place to go to make an impact on entrepreneurs around the world.

Very cool store. Always lots to look at. An interesting place to browse. They have high quality items but also have affordable pricing.

Very helpful staff. Great place to buy a gift for virtually any adult. The added benefit of it being a fair trade so you get your money's worth.

Lovely and unique handmade items for the home and for gifts that support poor individuals around the world. More expensive than the mass produced stuff available in big box stores, but as a Fair Trade, non-profit organization you know artisans are getting paid fairly, not working in a sweat shop.
