Tennessee River Gorge Island Cabin

My husband and I stayed here with our kids over spring break. Beautiful! Perfect getaway. Billy was an amazing host. He seemed to anticipate all of our needs. Very helpful and accommodating, yet very respectful of privacy. Made us feel so at home, but pampered at the same time with all the perks of being on vacation! He took us out on boat ride and my husband and daughter even saw a bald eagle! Amazing wildlife.

This was by far one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a few days. First, the location was amazing. The Tennessee River Gorge is a beautiful stretch of nature. You just walk out your cabin door and the river and mountains are right there. We even had breakfast one morning on the river bank. It’s just a few feet from the cabin. We had a chance to go with Billy and his other guests for a pontoon ride too, and it was worth the trip as Billy is a great guide. But as others have said, make sure you remember to bring everything you need (ketchup for example). It’s a long way into town if you need to go to the store! Second, the cabin is a perfect fit for the location. While small, it has all the amenities and is so much better than a hotel room. It is clear that a lot of thought and care went into its construction and in choosing the decor. But most importantly, it is really your host that makes this such a special place. Billy will go out of his way to make sure you have a great trip. He certainly went above and beyond for us. We brought our own boat with us, but had some trouble with it at first. Billy helped us diagnose the problem, even jumping into the still chilly April waters to help out. That’s just one example of where he was more like a good neighbor than a host! His commitment to his guests was on constant display. Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations. If you’re reading this trying to decide if you should book one of the cabins, we’d suggest you do it in a heartbeat if you’re looking for a great laidback relaxing vacation. You won’t be disappointed.

Very friendly and great place to go! I’m from The Chattanooga area and this is the only place I’d ever rent from, low prices and super nice owner! BEAUTIFUL place to yakk!!!

We stayed at the smaller cabin on this property. The cabin is small but cozy, we spent most of our time outside enjoying the river and beautiful scenery. We took the canoe out on the river early in the morning and late in the evening because the river was very calm at these times. The owner Billy was very accommodating and enjoyable to talk with. This is the place to stay if you are looking for a quite relaxing get away. We may make this an annual trip for our family.

I spent three nights in cabin 1. I chose the wrong time of the year as the warmest it got was 37 degrees, but I still had a great time! It was awesome to find a dog friendly place to stay. The scenery was breathtaking and I hope to return in warmer weather to do some catfishing.
