With an appointment the time here is not but 1 hour max with step/ covid/ flu swabs. But coming as a walk in a different story as it can be any where from 2-5 hours here as I have been lately. But over all the wait time is not long as long as your child gets checked and treated. This location does not do anything but swabs no x-ray/ cat-scan/ blood work. If you think your child needs any of that go to ER or their main campus. But I'd call to be sure that they have staff to do such things. Over all staff is polite and they answer every hour with out and attitude of how much longer or families ahead of you there are as I did ask 2 days I came in back to back.
My Daughter Was Seen As An Emergency Patient On Wednesday Evening For The 1st Time. The Front Desk Guy Was Nice And Check-In Was Smooth. CNP-Nickolas Matthews Saw My Daughter She Had Covid, A Swollen Eye And Ear Infection. He Did A Very Good Job In His Findings, Explained Everything And Asked If I Had Any Questions Before Leaving. Antibiotics Were Sent Over To Our Pharmacy, No Issues At All. My Daughter Is On Day 3 Of Antibiotics And Is Doing Much Better, Thank You Guys For Your Care.
Unfortunately the experience here is poor. Front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to tact, timeliness, and empathy for parents with sick, small children. Should you come here, be prepared to wait for hours. Even once shown to an exam room, expect to wait an additional hour or more. We’ve come several times hoping for a better experience when in a bind. Each time disappoints more than the last with regards to time to see a caregiver and time in and out of the facility overall. I have given this two stars for the online reservation tool mandatory, don’t bother walking in and the caregivers being polite when you eventually get to see one; otherwise one star would be too gracious of a rating.
I am extremely disappointed with this urgent care. I called them at 4 pm to ask to schedule an appointment. They told me I can walk in until 8 pm. We arrive at 6:45 pm and they refuse to check my son in. I explained to them that he has been running at high fever and we just got back into town. Horrible, rude, inconsiderate front desk staff this evening..Saturday, Nov. 26. The worst staff, with 0 empathy. The front desk lady should work in a place where she doesn’t interact with sick children and worried.
Got here at 10:45am. It’s 1:54 pm and my 10 month old has yet to be seen by a provider. This is absolutely unimaginable. My child is so weak, covid positive and needs to be back home where she can rest and heal. But here I am waiting 3 +hours just for her to be seen by a doctor and prescribed medication & still nothing. After two hours I’m finally in a room and still waiting 1 hour because per the nurse they only hv two doctors working today. I was told at 1pm there were 4 people ahead of me. It’s been 50 minutes and she comes in to tell me there are now only 2 people ahead of me. So the doctors apparently see 1 patient each person hour? How is that ok? I’ve never been to an urgent care before bt this experience is absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t wish this on any sick child or concerned parent. Please do ur child the benefit of taking him or her elsewhere. Please.
Extremely frustrated with the care my daughter received. I normally go to the pediatrics next door but since it is appointments only and my daughter had an emergency, I ended up going to this urgent care. What I thought would be a routine and fairly simple procedure ended up being very sloppy and put my daughter in significant pain. My daughter accidently fell and hit a corner which cut the side of her ear cartilage. It was a clean cut and all that was needed was glue to connect the tissue together. However, what seemed to be a simple procedure ended up being a nightmare... the nurse ended up putting too much glue and glued her gloves to the ear. She tried pulling it off which irritated the ear and made the wound worse. The ear started to severely bruise due to the force the nurse was applying, all while my 5 year old daughter is screaming because her hand/gloves were glued to the ear. After a few minutes of pulling and applying saline, thr nurse was able to get the glove off. But now the glue did not adhere, my daughter is screaming, the ear is bruised and the cut is worse. After giving motrin and waiting 20 minutes, she tried again but because the ear was severely bruised, her solution was to apply a ton of glue to the wound and hope it seals correctly. I questioned whether the seal was done correctly as her ear continued to bleed and she said this was the best she could do. This was extremely sloppy and I was surprised at how unprofessional the work was. My daughters ear literally looks like a glob of glue was put on the wound. This was something I could have easily done without any training. Now I am worried the ear will not heal correctly and there will be significant scarring when it should have been minimal. This experience was extremely tramautizing for our whole family. Fortunately I was able to capture all of this on video and I have pictures to show the sloppy work. I am comtemplating the next steps but this is extremely unacceptable. I never write reviews but thought it was important to share my experience as I do not wish this on anyone elses family.
I was visiting Houston from out of state, when my child was progressively getting sicker I decided to take him to the prestigious Texas children's, it wasn't an emergency so urgent care was appropriate, so we went to the heights. When I checked in they told me avg wait time was 1.5 hrs. I waited 3.5 hrs to see a provider. Dr Sonia John, she was also not empathetic, did not listen to my concern for my child, and also discharged us with nothing as a plan or treatment for my actual concern. She also minimized our concern by comparing us to "everyone in the waiting room has cough and fever", and told me to keep giving Tylenol and Ibuprofen despite me telling her I had been doing that for a week already. I also asked for specific treatments and diagnostics because I am in the healthcare field but she dismissed us again. Well, sure enough two days later my child did get worse, did require further treatments antibiotics, nebulizers, and testing and for this I would never recommend this place who allows such arrogant and apathetic provider practice in their facility.
Our doctor was not patient with our Daugther and showed she was frustrated with her. She a little baby what you expect it be easy? No. If you can’t be patient with a baby maybe you should change careers jobs. Just saying. Doctor MIRANDA C ROGERS.
Honestly the worst if i could leave a 0 star review i definitely would. i would definitely choose another location next time if it’s needed. It’s unbelievable that i had a virtual visit and was asked to come in for my daughter for just testing, i was at work and asked my mom to take her, she got there at 4:00 pm and literally got out at 5:30pm a lot of people kept walking in and out and kept going in after my mom arrived and they kept skipping them, i had to call 3 times to see what was going on because my mom was getting anxiety for long wait time for testing only, supposedly they were waiting for room to swab her but turns out when they called her they swabbed her where she was sitting at something that took 1 minute testing and wait time for 1 hour and a half just for testing. Don’t recommend if you have a virtual visit and you are just going for testing don’t choose this location!
I took my daughter here and then Texas children in the medical center. She was really bad and told me she was negative for everything so it was viral. My daughter has 10 days in the hospital with a chest tube due to them not running an X-ray in either locations. Pneumonia could of been caught since day one.
