Wish I could give 0 stars or -5. This place is rude and hates working with ''non-certified'' techs. I ordered a Macbook Air LCD screen replacement with diffusers. I received scratched diffusers, but I understand those are very hard to keep spotless during shipping. The way they packed it into the box was decent enough not to complain. So I did not, I installed the LCD and Diffusers and had strange issues with color Display (even after calibration). First their Mac ''Geniuses'' told me it was the cable of my Mac LMAO! After I explained that was basically impossible, I asked for replacement LCD, they refused and asked me to ship what I installed back to them. Let me just say, these guys are worse than the ''geniuses'' at the Mac store, the manager was the worst. First he wanted me to send them an LCD that did not function properly (which is pointless). When I called back to tell them ''hey, i need the address and new diffusers as well (obviously).'' The manager says ''I already sent the LCD for free'' without any notification letting me know that. Then went on to say that the Diffusers will be $100. I told him I never sent it back which I thought that needed to happen for an exchange. He jumped the gun and sent me just the LCD without any consultation. He went on to say that if I'm not trained or certified to remove the LCD that I should not be doing it myself. I have been an IT since 10 years old, right now I'm a network engineer and can take apart (and put it back together) literally anything. I repair smart phones, laptops, PCs, Servers, TVs, etc. This guys disrespected me and basically wanted me to pay him to fix it! LMAO. Then I asked for a refund if they did not send the Diffusers as well. He refused to refund or to work with me. I had to open a PayPal case just to get my money back, which I did, eventually. From Dec 2016 - March 2017 I had to deal with that BS just bc a ''genius manager'' decided to try and play me.

Called to see if a specific 3rd party adapter was is stock and confirmed a price of 49.99.  They had it so I said I was on the way to get it.  On arrival I repeated that I wanted the 3rd party adapter and a rep pulled one in a plastic bag from a drawer.  At the register he told me it was 74.99. I said that was the price of the Mac brand and that I wanted the cheaper 3rd party adapter.  He asked another man in an office and he said it was 74.99 and that the 3rd party adapter was only available online and could be to me within 2 days.  I said that I needed it today and had just called and specifically asked about it.  With attitude he said sorry I wasted my time coming all the way over.  I just left, drove a few more miles to a Best Buy, spent the 79.99 they wanted for the name brand, and had service without attitude.  I like to give the local guy a chance but I should have looked at the reviews first, this seems typical. Side note....odd they sell an official Mac product out of the box and for $5 cheaper than other retailers.  Wonder if Mac endorses this?

I dropped my laptop off at the store, late afternoon on 9-10-2012 for repair. They replaced the hard drive and add some memory. They called me on 9-11-2012 around 1 pm to say that the work was completed and it was ready to go! UNBELIEVABLE, LESS THAN 24 HOURS. I have waited longer for some places to return my call. I picked it up around 2:30 took it home to check it out. Everything worked perfect! Price was right, turn around time was really fast, and they were friendly. What more could you ask for?

Store front is a bit confusing. There are two names for this business, Austin Mac Repair and Texas Mac Repair. And they share their suite with a non-profit, hard-core, christian evangelist group. I brought in an old Macbook Air to see why it kept shutting down. Unfortunately the logic board is bad. And the cost to replace it is more than what the machine is worth in working order. So, I decided to not fix it. $30 Bucks to find out my machine is toast isn't bad! Other than the confusion about being in the right place, the over the top religious paraphernalia, and the sign on their door threatening to call the police if I cursed, they offered me great service and quick turn-a-round. They were pleasant when they greeted me and called me several times to either ask questions or keep me posted on their progress.

Great service! Took my iMac to BestBuy for them to take a look at why my computer wouldn't start anymore. Got a call 2 weeks later saying it was a "defective logic board and would cost $1100 to repair". I told them that's ridiculous and to send it back. After looking online for a second opinion I came across Texas Mac Repair with logic board repair for $600 and thought i'd bring it in. Jose, the AMR Tech, greeted me with a smile and handshake asking about the issue. He said it would take a couple hours to run a diagnostic and that he'd get back to me by the end of the day. I got a call less than 3 hours later. Jose told me that it was not the logic board but just some bad memory! I had mentioned when I first went in that I would be looking to boost my memory if the computer could be fixed and knowing that he went ahead and installed 20gb of new ram from my original 8gb! I'll be recommending Texas Mac Repair to anyone who has Mac trouble!
