We had dinner at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant on a Friday night with two little kids and it was a real treat! This place is themed very well and almost gave me Disney World vibes. The coolest part is how the planes land directly in front of the windows and outdoor seating. For dinner, the kids got pasta and we got the hangar steak *no pun intended? or was it?. It was not *amazing* food but definitely better than what I was expecting for this type of place. A highlight was the Cheese Grits, which were some of the best I have had in a long time. The best part of our meal was a biplane that landed and parked right out front of the restaurant. The kids absolutely loved this. It was right in front of our table and the walk outside to see it up close was quick. Stop by this place if you have kids, or later in the evening of you are looking for a bar with a dance floor.
Pro Tip - the old fashioned isn’t their best, avoid it watery because of the ice used Otherwise, this place is amazing. A trip back to ww2 times, except this food is prob way better. : All the food we had, soda, Long Island, all superb and well enjoyed. Service was polite, thoughtful and appreciated! Flights coming and going were by far another treat, and we got to see the red Bi-plane take off and land, very neat experience! We loved our visit, we would certainly come again and could recommend to anyone looking for good food.
Haven’t been here in many years. Still the same. Still fun. And good food. As you pass through the sandbag lined bunker you go back in time. Past the unfinished portrait of FDR if you’ve never visited Warm Springs, go there . Try to sit by the windows or on the patio to watch the planes take off and land at PDK. I had a lunch spinach salad. Excellent. Wife had a burger. Order it more rare than you normally do. She asked for medium and it was closer to well done. She still liked it. They have a full bar at reasonable prices, so we took advantage of it . We will not wait so long to return.
This place is definitely a gem. The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe. There are neat historical decor from the moment you park the car that is sprinkled throughout the establishment. The hostess was snooty she didn’t greet us and acted annoyed that we were there and was borderline rude. The restaurant seemed to split into two; the casual dine in was situated on the left and the business attired folks were seated on the right side of the restaurant. We were seated quickly and our server was amazing. She was very patient and sweet and answered all of our questions regarding the food and the establishment. We sat by the window so my daughter could see the planes taking off and landing. She loved it. They also had ample outdoor seating right next to the landing strip which I’ll return to try when the weather gets warmer. The food was overall very good. The Rueben was delicious per my friend and the side of green beans was the epitome of perfection. Soft on the inside, slight crunch on the outside. It was flavored immensely well with a hint of garlic that didn’t overpower the vegetable itself. The Buffalo chicken dip was excellent and the chips it came with tasted fresh. The grilled cheese was a bit weak: the outside was burnt and the cheese was sparse. The fries it came with was also underwhelming. My salad tasted fresh but could’ve used more pecans and oranges. Overall we had a nice time and will return.
Really enjoyable brunch spot! The food was good but I wish they had a little better selection. The service was great and the price was reasonable. An added bonus is that you sit and watch the planes take off and land at the airport next door. Pretty awesome!
Quirky World War II themed restaurant from the past with a very loyal following of mixed age groups. Indoor/outdoor bar and dinner seating in several rooms with dedicated event space beside the runway of the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. Prices appeared fair and menu offering on a dinner and sandwich menus appeared well prepared and of generous portions. Parking was adequate as was physically handicapped accessibility. Service was very good and all guests appeared satisfied and well cared for. Several televisions were playing sports and extertainment for a later evening dance floor was being prepared. Well worthy of a second look!
The atmosphere was unique and well done. The food itself was also very good and I had the prime rib as you can see in the picture. My dish was very tasty and a few people in my party got the bone in pork chop which was also delicious and looked well. One of my friends got the filet which was cooked cooked to his liking call my but was slightly under seasoned. Appetizers at the table included the cheeseburger soup and fried shrimp which was a big hit. Our server was woefully slow and missed a few people that wanted to order appetizers. Over all would go again and The Visit was enjoyable
We love coming here. It's perfect for our toddler who loves to watch the planes take off and land as we eat. The theme is super cool and the food is good and varied. We especially love their buffet brunch now that they've brought it back after Covid. I highly recommend!
We went for brunch and it was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend the mimosa kit! Food and service were exceptional! Can't wait to come back! Had the opportunity to return for dinner when celebrating my wedding! Food was delicious and our server was fantastic! She even took the time to take pictures. Another amazing experience!
This restaurant is very nice. Hidden off the road. You're on the green right before the airfield. Parking was plentiful however we arrived a little after eight for dinner service on a Friday night. This is were service got a 5 . We unknowingly add an additional person to our invite and we had to add a chair to our table. However the restaurant staff handled it perfectly. I could tell the server was a little P.Od. about it originally. She handled our table with great service and professionalism the rest of the night. While there I visited the men's restroom and found reading material at eye level, from a news paper from word war 2. The atmosphere was very cool. It feels old and rustic. At one end of the restaurant there's a large ball room for weddings and events. On the other side there's a dance floor and a couple bars to get drinks. This earned them another 5 . So it comes down to the food. I had the prime rib and my wife had the salmon. The prime rib was a bit of a let down. By the time reached the center the steak, it had lost it's flavor. The skirts steak was a bit salty. The salmon was delicious very smooth almost melt in your mouth. All the sides are add ONS. This is where they received a 4 rating. To me the value for the money fell short.
