The Benchmark

I’ve lived here for 5 years, the location can’t be beat- you can hop on 315 so quickly making anything in Columbus only a 15-20 minute drive. Love the natural lighting in the apartment as well as the clean, open living/kitchen space. Pool seems small but it’s really a great size. I’ve always felt safe, even walking my dog in the middle of the night. Previous management was not so great, but new management continues to make improvements! Would recommend to any friends!

I can't stress enough how disappointed I was with the maintenance service. If you're considering moving here, I strongly advise you think twice. The biggest issue I've encountered is the duration of maintenance request are addressed. It's as if they have a "take your sweet time" policy in place. I've multiples issues in my apartment, form leaky faucets, smoke detector, and bathroom light. It takes at least months to get a response. It's utterly frustating to live in a place where you can't rely on the basic amenities to work properly. One of the worst examples is the smoke detector has a low battery and keep beeping, and It took months for the maintenance guy to show up. Once he showed up, he refuse to replace it, citing the excuse he is too short to reach the alarm and change the battery.

I have lived her for the past 5 FIVE! years and you cant beat the location, access to 315, and so close to the Japanese market. I have always felt safe here. The apartments are very nice for the price.

I lived on the third floor of one building for 2 years and it was a great experience. Very good location near many attractions. The apartment was very new and didn’t have any problem. The management people was nice and easy to communicate with.

I’ve lived here for 2 years. The price is the only thing that’s cool about this place because of location. Under kitchen sink has flooded about half dozen times. Washer dryer has flooded and needed replaced. You have to be present for anyone to come fix anything and or remind the office manager to let them in. They won’t lock your doors when they leave. No storage for coats and cleaning supplies. Very small closets. They did not plow in the winter which caused us to work from home due to the parking lot. they don’t even salt. several gutters and stair railings damaged that are hazards.

Do not live here, management has gotten progressively worse. I put in 2 weeks ago a maitanence request for smoke detector issue, still yet to be fixed. Safety hazard? Tenants were told the pool would be open may 20, its 10+ days later and still not open. Never lived somewhere so unresponsive to its tenants. No storage in the apartments, broken railings on all of the outside stairs. Good luck in the parking lot in the winter, they don’t not upkeep with ice on sidewalks or the parking lot even after I notified them of people falling. Place is a joke

Horrible. Do not live here please don’t unless you’d like to also be living with your neighbors! The walls are paper thin! You’ll literally hear everything your neighbor is doing from talking to closing cabinets. The appliances are all old and continuously break. Our air unit went out 3 times in 2 years. Had 3 new washers. The walls are going to start cracking soon after you move in due to them just covering it up with paint. Leasing office is incompetent. Do not live here!

Great place to live for all age groups. A very safe community with friendly, quiet neighbors. The new Benchmark manager, Gabriella Hampton is always professional, accommodating and available to help resolve any issues or requests within a reasonable timeframe. The security guard Aron is also an added plus to the security of this community that isn’t always present in other apartment communities. I definitely have enjoyed my time living at the Benchmark apartments and will miss the free Starbucks coffee / hot chocolate , future Taco Tuesday’s and morning waffles for sure

I’ve lived here for only about two months but so far I really like it. I came from off-campus housing and it’s a MAJOR step up from that, but that’s no surprise. The units are very new. All up-to-date appliances. The unit was very clean when we moved it. We’re right outside the pool which has been a lovely amenity. There’s also free Starbucks coffee in the lobby which I utilize every day. The apartment is pretty small. The storage is severely lacking. It took my roommate and I a while to figure out how to best organize everything and where everything was going to go. However, now that everything is in its place, the apartment doesn’t feel cramped. The open layout of the kitchen and living room as well as the high ceilings make the place feel bigger. Having our own bathrooms is also lovely. The price is decent, maybe a little on the expensive side. The complex runs only on electric no gas and since it’s summer our bill hasn’t been too bad. I’m a little anxious about the price increase when it comes time to heat the house in the winter because I’ve heard it can get expensive

This place is horrific. I have lived here two years and have been through at least 5 different management. Our move in process was horrible due to the property manager at the time was not on property at the time when I was supposed to move in. She did not leave the keys for me to have access to my apartment so I had to continue to go back and fourth with her until she came on property to give me my keys. Our dishwasher has been molded since we moved in and has not been fixed although we have made multiple maintenance requests. Walls are very very thin. Can hear everything from the unit next to you. Our air conditioner has broken 3 times, as well as our washer and dryer and microwave. It takes them days to fix our AC unit when it is 80-90 degrees outside which is very inconsiderate because I have asthma and can barely sleep let alone breath in those conditions, they also don’t give you money off when our AC breaks. Smh, moving on to the washer and dryer, which broke multiple times, they brought out used ones that also broke until they decided to quit being cheap and buy a new one. They also put a hole in the wall and on the floor in the process of brining in the new washer and dryer. Moving onto the microwave, they brought us an used one from a different unit which was dirty and they couldn’t wipe it clean because of the grease stains on it. They promised to order us a new one which they never did. The walls have cracked overtime badly and they don’t care and says it’s apart of the building all the units crack as if that’s okay. Last but not least, my friend moved in the same time I did and lives next door. One night she left her windows open and it was a bad storm which no one was prepared for but the wind blew her window off and it shattered. They then “replaced” it the next day and yet it just fell out the window on its own. They then put cardboard on it and promised they would fix it. Her window has had cardboard on it her bedroom window which only has the one window, for months now and she has officially moved out. I do not recommend this place for anyone. It is terrible. Do not let the office management or the deals they throw at you fool you.
