The Bier Baron Tavern and DC Comedy Loft

Echoing other reviews, the taps have been busted for weeks and last time I was there they were out of several bottles. Seems like they’re going out of business? I homebrew and have built my own taps from scratch so I can say from experience there is no reason for this. Service and vibe were excellent so this would’ve been 4 or 5 stars.

Great atmosphere and beer selection! A friend told me about this place and I don't regret the walk here. Friendly bartender and you could feel that this was a proper beer place. I will be back whenever I'm back in DC.

This was the most preposterously bad service I've ever experienced, from the night I ate there until now -- two months later -- when they refuse to refund me for a $120 double-charge. After waiting forever for each round of appetizers and drinks, we were eager to sign the check and leave. I signed for the table, not realizing that they had charged for drinks we had not received and had not charged us happy hour prices. A friend pointed this out, so we asked the waiter to refund me the first check and print a new one. I signed the second check and was assured the first had been voided -- but this did not happen. When I flagged the double-charge with my bank, they said Bier Baron SENT THEM BOTH RECEIPTS AS PROOF, as if both were valid, and that I had gotten two nearly identical orders of food and drinks within ten minutes. When I called to resolve this, they said they would get back to me. It has now been a week, and I have been unable to get anything but a busy signal. Now Bier Baron has stolen $120 from me.

Awesome and cozy beer bar with two floors. They use the top floor for comedy shows and other things. They have a gigantic beer list with plenty on tap, some really great bourbons and whiskies, and a great assortment of pub food that's not overly greasy. Sundays and Thursdays are $3.50 drafts. Overall a great place to meet with friends that's more quiet and laid back.

This place has a great bottle list but was out of several of my selections. Did not try any food but it did not look very appetizing. Also their taps were all busted and apparently had been for over two weeks. Really? You're a beer bar!
