The Book Exchange

Uploaded by a past employee from the owner. She wrote this in their workbook. If you want a dress code, fine, but there are way better ways to do it than this. Never give this woman your business. This note was in reaction to many women in the store reporting her husband's predatory sexual behavior.

I have been going to the book exchange in Missoula for 6 years. I have noticed a real decline in customer service in the past year. I am aware that not every book will be accepted as a return but they are accepting less and less. The main complaint I have is the staff’s attitude. They are snarky and arrogant. Today as I was about to purchase two books, a clerk said, oh I’m supposed to tell you not to throw books away in the trash outside the store. I said, you are speaking to me like I’m a 10 year old. I won’t be back again.... one of the other clerks said, good don’t come back! Hello amazon books ... bye bye book exchange. P.S. you might get better benefits working at Starbucks but doubt you’d be hired with your arrogant attitudes and really bad customer service.

What a great store! Such a great variety of books! Just about anything you could want. Very knowledgeable staff. I love their exchange program for books, it keeps the books coming!

The Book Exchange is an excellent reason to shop locally. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the inventory is very impressive and they have a very nice seating area for working on your laptop and/or reading. The in-store Liquid Planet has great coffee, soups, sandwiches, croissants and many other great edibles.

Staff reports shaming and judgmental oversight from owner regarding employee clothing. I have spoken to a manager who confirms this toxic atmosphere. Such a pity since recycling books is a fine idea.
