UPDATE: About 2 minutes after posting initial review, I decided to increase rating to 3 stars. Why? Customer service. When the cashier asked “Was everything good?” my non-committal shrug made her inquire further: “Was something wrong with your food?” I admitted to expecting more. But it was the genuine concern she showed once I hinted to not having a good dining experience. So yeah, my revised rating, because the French toast was too expensive & an additional for customer service/concern. PREVIOUS RATING: Two stars. For the TWO pieces of French toast. I think there should’ve been 3 minimum or 4 to give great value. Maybe I’m being unreasonable, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised because it’s a corner diner in Midtown Manhattan, maybe it’s just that I still feel $10.30 tax included—or actually $12.30 factoring in gratuity—is still a bit much for just TWO slices of basic French toast. And there really wasn’t anything special about it taste wise. While the price did give me sticker shock, if the French toast had tasted like it was flown in from France, I would’ve went up to 3 stars. But alas, a little too expensive for my hemoglobin. Other info: Very busy location. At 9 am on a Friday morning there was a sizable amount of people inside. If you’re concerned about masking, you may want to get order to go. My server wore a mask, but I took a cursory look around and out of 20 patrons, only one was wearing a mask. I took my mask off for two seconds to eat my two slices of French toast and then put it right back on. Really don’t see myself coming back unless I’m in a mood to spend money frivolously. The liver & onions did pique my curiosity, but alas, no one makes liver better than my Uncle Calvin and I don’t think he’ll charge me as much as Flame Diner, if at all.
Great diner for lunch! Had the chicken soup which was perfect for the cold winter day. Also had the chicken tenders from the appetizer menu. Crunchy and flavorful and had Buffalo sauce on the side. Would recommend! Service was great too!
Large space to dine in. Proves of vaccination required. Breakfast, lunch or dinner American classic menu. Tables for 124 dinners. Attended by diligent personnel of hostess, waiters, delivery’s staff. On Manhattan Midtown upper East side. Razonable prices.
Went for late night for food and was exactly what we needed. We got late night dinner foods- chicken fingers, cheeseburger slider, and fish/chips. Really loved the cheeseburger slider as it was just what I needed. Atmosphere gave off classic dinner vibes and our server was amazing. Really good spot
Descent diner, but I'm not particularly happy with the food. It could have been much better. Specifically the Baklava dessert wasn't that good, despite the fact that this place was supposed to be greek and greeks are big on Baklava! Anyway since this one of the few 24hr diners in the neighborhood, I hope they be around for long long time!
You can get pretty much everything here. Went in for dinner after the run. The bison burger was little bit on the dry side. The server was very very friendly & nice. Everything else was good. Nice & clean.
When it was so cold, the staff welcomed me warmly. I thought there was a tip for sure, but it was good because it was included in the price. All you have to do is pay at the counter. Lots of food and a variety of menus. A comfortable atmosphere with all kinds of guests.
A friend and I came by last night and I had the chicken souvlaki. The chicken was tender and the tzatziki sauce was really delicious. The waiter was exceptional. He was an older gentleman who made us feel at home.
It’s fine I guess, it’s a good location. Customer service was prompt but we ordered an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. He brought us a plain bagel and admitted that they were out but didn’t tell us or offer anything as an alternative. Just set the plate down and said we were out of what you ordered and left. There was barely enough lox to cover the bagel and it was $13. I got a piece of pie that was ok. My coffee stayed full so that was nice. I think the manager or owner was walking around and talking to people but never spoke with us.
Late night diner spot, you know what to expect. Can’t complain, wanted something light yet filling and it met that expectation. Service was good and prompt.
