My partner and I relocated to The Gibson two months ago and we absolutely LOVE it!! The vibe, the building and the staff are wonderful. We originally toured the building with Abby and she was fantastic. We are both pretty picky and have our own list of requirements, which can be super annoying, but she was extremely patient and encourage us to tour several options until we found the one that provided both of us with our requirements. It's nice when someone "gets" it. Since moving in, things have been great! Maintenance is responsive and quick to take care of any issues that arise. The last thing I will say is "location, location, location"!! We are within walking distance to so many cool spots. The neighborhood has exceeded our expectations and our fur babies love it too. I would highly suggest running, not walking, to the leasing office today if you are in the market. Seriously.
I recently relocated from Texas to Charlotte and the team at The Gibson has been fabulous. From the initial contact they've been responsive and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted in a community. The office team is extremely pleasant to deal with and made sure all of my questions were answered before and after moving in. The community is well kept and the other residents are friendly. Having so many options for eating, drinking, and shopping within walking distance is great. I'm very happy with my choice to make The Gibson my new home.
I lived in The Gibson for over 2 years. It has been a great experience - management is great, as well as the maintenance. It is less than 5 minutes walk to all the bars, breweries, and restaurants in Plaza Midwood; Uptown and Southend are less than 5 minutes drive. I cannot recommend this place enough; definitely the best in Plaza Midwood and Noda neighborhood.
Ms. Lakeesha was an amazing tour guide. She was very detailed and transparent with me about all of my options. I really appreciated her going out of the way to make sure a had the best experience !
Once new management came along in May 2022, things definitely started to go downhill. Trash was never removed from the dumpsters so the parking deck always smelled bad very off-putting for visitors, parking was almost never available for visitors because residents would park down there, hard to get a hold of the leasing office, events were lackluster, etc. I definitely feel I made the right decision in moving out once my lease was up. Great location, which is why I give it one star, but not at all worth the lackluster management. Plenty of other options in the neighborhood.
I really loved my tour. Such a beautiful apartment I love the hardwood floors & the kitchen is beautiful. I can really see myself in this apartment. I want this apartment so bad. Just 1 more month & it’ll be mine!
I moved out in June due to a $500 rent increase when the new management company took over, the parking is horrific, if you live on the first or second floor be prepared to park on the side street where your car will get hit or on the 5th floor even though you pay a monthly parking fee. Events are anticlimactic, getting a maintenance tech out was like pulling teeth. The worst part is I moved out 6 months ago and still have not receive our security deposit, I call nobody ever answers, I email and it takes 2 months to get back. I put the correct address on the notice to vacate form yet they send it to the incorrect address. I give them an alternative address still haven't received it. Absolutely ridiculous! They also don't tell you how incredibly loud and how often you hear sirens, trains, jerks revving their cars. Nobody picks up after their dogs, the list goes on. When I first moved in it was great and every month it continued to decline. Happy I moved out but would be even happier if they would just send me my security deposit.
We had an excellent experience with Lakesha she handled all our move in paperwork and made sure it was a breeze. Also went the extra mile for us. We also enjoy living back in the plaza mid wood area again as well.
I’ve lived here for a year and it’s sad that the building has changed so much since new management started May 22’. All recent low rating comments are true. Additional feeslike parking, where I’ve lived, increased rentexpected but poor customer service and communication, one event a monthidk how many residents can attend just one day or May be interested in one type of thing. The trash problem is bad, trash piles up in the garage and by the entrance. The responses from management here are not helpful because changes aren’t happening . They haven’t tried to form a relationship with the residents. I’m so disappointed, I don’t think anyone should want to move here since things have changed.
I have just signed my lease! Lakeesha is amazing! I was crazy hard to please and probably saw the most floorplans ever asked for in a tour. But she met everything I wanted and more! I am in love with my new home due to her amazing work and persistence with me! Thank you so much Lakeesha! You are your team are amazing!
