Story

The Grub Hut is a laid-back and unpretentious gathering place specializing in classic American eats such as burgers, sandwiches, shakes, salads and of course… tons of fried goodies.

Come feed the family from the kids menu and over 30 classic and gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and gyros. Not that hungry? Trying to eat healthy? We also offer fresh homemade soups and veggie chili, as well as homemade veggie patties to substitute on any of our burger, gyro, or sandwich sets. You can also go light with a large variety of delicious salads, fresh-made civiche or our delicious hummus plate.

Or, maybe just stop in for one of the 25 delicious flavors of milkshakes and soft-serve ice cream!

Located across the street from The Firehouse theater, The Grub Hut is open from 11-8 Sunday through Thursday and 11-9 on Friday and Saturday. Call-in orders are always welcome!

Really impressed with my pulled pork sandwich and a great, classic chocolate shake! The sandwich was HEAVY and had a neat sauce (mustard?) that was delicious. The staff was quick, efficient and pleasant. Cool vibe for a hamburger (and much more) hut! Hungry? Go here!

We stopped here after taking the ferry across, it's really easy access right on the main road. Lots of great choices on the menu, the staff was super nice, helpful, efficient and patient. The burgers and fries were delicious and served really quick. We will definitely stop here again, great local business!

An island flare with Reggae music in the background. Island decor and sticky floors, with a heavy grease odor that will linger on your clothes for days. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Jamaican Gyro and fries. The chicken was moist, tender and in large chunks. The sauce was a bit much, dripping out of the wrapper. The pita, was just pita. The bell pepper and lettuce wilted from the heat and became mushy. The fries were inconsistently fried: some under- cooked, some cooked perfectly and some over-cooked with dripping grease. The peanut butter milk shake was on point. The flow was smooth, but not too thick with great flavor.

My wife is vegetarian. She was able to substitute a rather well-cooked veggie patty for the beef. She also said the veggie chili was very tasty. My daughter ordered the jerked chicken sandwich. With the wet pineapple and heavy jerk spice...she couldn't eat it . My chicken bacon ranch also had a jerk spice on the bacon. Not a fan. We subsequently realized it was a Jamaican style restaurant. So if ya don't like the jerk spice, you might not appreciate it.

The Grub Hut provides tasty, yet affordable burgers. Their service is always excellent and the staff are friendly. This restaurant is an essential part of the Kingston experience.
