Charming guesthouse with large rooms, quiet sleeps. Good value. Near some sweet spots to eat and go out. Transit good to other areas.
A beautiful house that's clearly been lovingly restored to a former glory. It's in a good spot close to local restaurants and bars plus the underground. Good shower too. Unfortunately I found the bed uncomfortable but that could just have been the bed I had...or just my personal opinion. It's a good value place to stay though.
My favourite place to stay in New York, a beautiful Harlem brownstone with gorgeous, characterful rooms. OK, you share a bathroom with one other room and there's no room service, but for $99 a night you're in Manhattan, no distance at all from the A and 1 trains or the Park. What's not to love?

A beautiful home - wonderful historic preservation, with charming and unelected details throughout. How often do you get to wander through an old brownstone that hasn't been cut up into apartments? It's delightful.
