Absolutely wonderful experience! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the bed and breakfast experience with you. We also truly enjoyed the afternoon tea service. The blueberry scones were decadent. I had never experienced a crumpet. It was so yummy! Breakfast was outstanding! My husband especially enjoyed the pancakes. The fruit was fresh. I cannot say enough good things. The hospitality was marvelous and we thank you for helping us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Looking forward to visiting you all again soon. Rooms: Lovely room. Make sure to ask about bathroom and bathing space. My husband and I are both in decent shape so we had no issues. Safety: We felt very comfortable and safe. Do not go to the Walgreens it’s a drive anyway so no real reason for concern. Walkability: There is a fantastic spot across the street that offers dining, adult beverages, as well as a food store. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious too. My husband and I really enjoyed walking around the area. We walked about 2-3 miles enjoying the houses and scenery. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Food & drinks: The food was absolutely outstanding. Fresh made coffee and breakfast each morning. I recommend doing the afternoon tea as well. I really appreciated that breakfast was included in our stay. We also stayed at a Hilton while we were in town as the wedding party was there. The Hilton buckle and dimed us at every turn. Our stay with the Lumber Baron inn was a far more enjoyable experience.
We can't say enough nice things about this place and the experience we had. We wanted to stay in the Highland neighborhood because we love the area and were lucky to score a room at the Lumber Baron Inn. It is such a beautiful building and our room was amazing. We couldn't believe how well taken care of we were. Joel helped us with last minute touches for a special occasion we were celebrating, made sure we were well fed and even scored us a fancy reservation last minute. The breakfast was 10/10. We won't be able to go back to Denver without at least stopping by for brunch. We had such a special experience compared to staying at an Airbnb or a hotel and we look forward to coming back.
We spent a week here as a little getaway and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Joel and Elaine are kind and gracious innkeepers that made us feel right at home. They make delicious breakfasts and were attentive to anything we needed. The Inn is gorgeous and our room was huge, cozy, and luxurious. The house is located in a great neighborhood, lots of people out walking at all times; and there are a lot of nice options for food within walking distance, and a grocery store.
My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed three nights here, and what a find it was! From the moment we arrived, the owner's passion for hospitality was evident in every detail, from the cozy ambiance of the rooms to the delicious breakfast spread that felt straight out of a gourmet kitchen. Speaking of breakfast, wow! Every morning, we were treated to a feast of homemade delights crafted by the owner, who also happens to be a talented chef. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. As someone who's very picky, I must say, our first-time experience at this bed and breakfast exceeded all expectations. If you're looking for a place where you're not just a guest but part of the family, look no further. We can't wait to return
Went for an afternoon tea party as a group of 6 for a bridal party. The service was wonderful. The server came around to check on us both for how all was tasting as well as to bring us a new tea of our choice. The room was on the warmer side since there was no ceiling fan so I would recommend bringing some sort of personal fan.
I had such an amazing experience with my grandmother today! Elaine sat down with us and told us about the history of the place. I loved the tea and the service. Definitely coming back for a reading ! Service: 5/5
I held my co-ed baby shower brunch here upstairs in the ballroom and it was so perfect and special. Fantastic service, very kind and responsive staff, and a lovely space. The space accommodated 30ish perfectly—I was worried it would be too big of a space for the number, but it felt just right! Highly recommend for wedding or baby showers! The food was great
I went to Colorado for my honeymoon and I stumbled upon this wonderful bed and breakfast. It's located in a safe neighborhood that's very charming and beautiful with lots of street parking. The staff here is spectacular. Walking in and talking to Elaine made me feel like I was walking into a family member's home, I felt so comfortable. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, absolutely beautiful, and each room was unique. We ended up staying multiple nights here and can't wait to come back in the future. I recommend everyone to stay here at least once.
My husband and I went here for our 4 year wedding anniversary. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the owner who was attentive and overall a great person. The room was beyond gorgeous and my husband couldn’t get over the decorative ceiling. We both loved the old architect and overall ambiance. The jetted tub in the garden suite was amazing! The gardens were beautiful, we spent two nights relaxing on the swing for hours. The breakfast was delicious as well. We will highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing time in Denver. Thank you, again.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens in Denver. Room: The rooms are beautiful and clean. Towels, shampoo conditioner are all available in the room. The bed is very comfortable giving it a 10 out of 10. The staff: very friendly and always going above and beyond making sure everyone is comfortable. The owners Joel and Elaine were fantastic and kind. We enjoyed interacting with them, and they were helpful. The house: it's amazing on the inside from the old picture to the library looking doors very cool!!! The Food: the breakfast is amazing I wish I could order more but it's more than enough to fill you up. Tea Time: very nice experience just chilled for a few hours drinking unlimited delicious tea and eating some cool stuff made all inhouse. Definitely coming again I wouldn't stay at a hotel after this experience!! Enjoy the pictures!!!
