Great cozey bar, with lots of life. The servers and staff were great about out large and demanding party. The tots were the best, we had a few baskets of wings too. The spicy sauces were hot but still enjoyable. We finished with some pizzas including the special, which were all very good and devoured. Of course we had plenty of sh*** beer, but the Owl does have a nice selection of craft beer too. Highly recommend this Colfax bar, which is becoming a must visit.
Good little bar spot on Colfax - Karaoke on Saturdays is fun to watch. Usually enough space for decent standing room if you’re unable to find a table. Drinks are good and fair priced. The crowd always seems to be having a good time which lends a hand to the experience/atmosphere. Typically start here and then venture across the street to the Abbey.
Popped in for a beer and ended up ordering one of the surprisingly best personal pizzas I've had in a minute. Respect to the kitchen!Food: 5/5
I really like the atmosphere here. I've only been one and had one drink which is why I'm giving it three stars. I didn't try any of their pizzas but the staff I'd friendly and I like the place. They Hava karaoke on Saturdays so I would like to check that out. Check this place out whenever you get a chance.
The drinks were reasonably priced, but we ended up only staying for one round. The reason we ended up leaving is because there was nowhere for us to sit. Can't really fault them too much on that, it's a small space and it was a Friday night. I'll have to come back and try it when it's less busy. They do have some beers I can't find anywhere else, and the atmosphere was nice
What a terrible experience. Our server seemed super confused and was either drunk, high or both. His incoherence came across as rude. Only rang in 4 sandwiches for 5 people, but that made sense considering how inebriated he was. We ordered 5. For a fact. Never came back to bring the check so we walked up to the bar to pay. Didn't say anything rude, just explained we wanted to pay. A man at the bar proceeded to make terrible threats about fighting and killing us. Told us he was going to rip our faces off and just in general made threats. Thankfully the bartender told him to leave but not immediately. Asking to have the check split for the items we ordered was apparently too complicated since everytime we asked, we were ignored and a full reciept was printed with everyone's food. We attempted to tell the server and bartender what items we each ordered and wanted to pay for those items but I guess that was too difficult. 1 of us did finally get an individual check with just our sandwich/beer but the next reciept that was printed contaned all the rest. We eventually gave up as getting a split check and one of us paid the bill in full. Good food. Good beer. Terrible service. Terrible patrons. Kid-friendliness: Not. At. All.
Cool spot to watch live music and great beer selection. Very cozy and love all the owls. Side street parking and also some in the back. Will definitely be back.Food: 4/5
I love everything about this Colfax bar. If you're a cowboy, drag queen, or some middle-aged parents looking for a fun place to hang...all are welcome! This isn't your college crowd or even anyone in their 20s getting blitzed and puking in the bathroom. Saturday nights are karaoke - which is a blast - so get there 8:30pm-ish to make sure you get in. After 9:30pm, arrivals will likely be turned away with the bar at capacity. The pizzas and tater tots are outstanding, with the special dill pickle pizza being my favorite I wish it was permanent on the menu followed by the Thai tator tots. Grab a cheap drink, take in the eclectic decor, and feel that you belong. <3
Nice dive bar on Colfax. Was too busy to stay for the Karaoke. Just pregaming but might stop back some later date to check it out.Service: 3/5
One of the best bars in town. Best on the East side. Fun, good food & drink, sometimes packed but welcoming. Recommended.
