The Parlour

Got a great transformation haircut from Hel. I drove all the way from Trenton because I wanted a Queer friendly salon that didn't do cookie-cutter status quo styles. Parlour did not disappoint, they were very welcoming and had fun decor throughout. Hel was a pleasure to work with.

I decided to try out Parlour because my regular hairdresser now has a different schedule and it’s close to my house. Initially, right after my appointment I felt great about my haircut and had a great time chatting with the hairdresser. But after my first wash I noticed my haircut is uneven. I got a simple short blunt bob. I didn’t let it bother me too much even though the difference was very noticeable to me since I had been sporting a bob for the past 8 months. I called Parlour a couple times during salon hours and no one picked up so I left a voicemail explaining what happened. A couple days later still no call back or email, so I called again and left another voicemail but to no avail. I really wanted to love Parlour; the space is beautiful, everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I was able to get an appointment right away. But I am very disappointed with the customer service and poor resolution skills. I wanted to let it slide but their prices are pretty high for an easy haircut and if I’m going to pay $100 for a bob cut it should at least be even.

I originally came to Parlour looking for a gua sha facial because I had facial swelling post operatively. Lynn have an amazing facial it is SO relaxing. I left with a huge difference in the way my face felt and the swelling had gone down after the lymphatic drainage. There is something very special about therapeutic touch to heal.

Love this place and Justine is one of the best / most helpful stylists! I initially went in a couple of months ago because it had been almost a year since I cut my hair, and she took great care of it! Then a few weeks ago I realized I wanted to be slightly more adventurous so I went back to her to get side bangs. I love them!! She was super nice and even took the time to go through how best to style them since it's been ages since I had any sort of bangs / styled hair. Def recommend this place!
