Unprofessional and irresponsible. The management is a mess. My daughter got told 2 weeks before move in day that they weren’t able to give her the apartment she signed the lease for anymore. 2 weeks. Every other possible housing option is now unavailable and they waited last minute to notify us. The alternative option was to switch to a 2x2 which was not what she wanted. She wanted a 4 bed 4 bath to share with her three friends. Now they’re going to be stuck in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom together. She signed the lease back in February and they just let her know 6 months later. Now she can’t find housing anywhere else and the only option is to downgrade at the Summit. Management doesn’t care whatsoever and offered no genuine response. Their only excuse is that they had unexpected renewals. So why promise housing in the first place? My daughter and roommates also previously went to the Summit in person to confirm their placement in the 4x4 and they reassured them continuously. This situation is just unexpected, annoying and totally preventable on their part. Now we have paid the deposit and bought everything that was supposed to go into the 4x4 apartment. We can’t bring half the stuff now because of the way smaller rooms and apartment. I will not recommend living at Summit to any student or individual. We didn’t get a solid, genuine response besides a totally preventable and unprofessional excuse.
Moved my daughter in yesterday and the process was excellent. They unloaded my car and had everything in the room. They were all so friendly! The location is absolutely perfect for her! Once we got into the apartment we were extremely disappointed. It was filthy! Sticky counters and every table was dirty. Still crumbs everywhere. The refrigerator was disgusting. The kitchen sink had food in it! The hot plate doesn’t work and there are several lights out. The doors to the laundry closet are broken and can’t be opened. There are paint splatters all over furniture and the carpets and floors. It is very obvious that nobody had step foot into the apartment since the old tenants moved out. We started asking around and everyone we spoke to yesterday said they had the exact situation - if not worse! I have tried calling the main number the last 2 days and nobody picks up. I tried the customer service line and nobody is there. I’d like to think things can only get better but I’m not hopeful.
They are petty enough to demand $0.39 when you already paid them the final month's rent and you went slightly over the electrical allotment, so they add that new charge to your balance after you're already gone. Online payments have a multi dollar fee by the way so get ready to fork out even more cash than necessary. The concrete walls and ceiling make the entire place feel unfinished at best, and the fact that all the ventilation pipes are exposed means that you are hearing every word from every other room in the apartment even if you don't want to. They have decent internet and other utilities but that isn't enough to make this worth recommending especially for the price.
The move in process was a breeze. Friendly staff. Has great amenities on site, Including Starbucks, urban eatery etc. After moving in my daughter had a serious roommate problem, management was not helpful in resolving the issue or finding another apartment for my daughter to move into leaving her essentially homeless and couch surfing for 3 months of her one year lease.
The summit at University City is a very safe place to live. Staff is super friendly and the views from the upper floors and sky lounge are amazing!! Rooms and closets are a great size as well!
The rooms are...passable and that's it. When I moved here, none of the amenities were open. Rooms are overpriced, especially compared to UCross. Front desk staff will roll their eyes at you and get annoyed when trying to sign someone in. When I had an issue with my neighbors and their excessive partying, the desk flat out ignored the multiple complaints I made. Trash chute has been broken for months now, so we have to send everything down the recycling bin. And the recycling bin gets locked half of the time. I routinely receive mail from past tenants. The leasing office decided to sublet an empty bed space without seeking permission from my roommate and I, and we were stuck with a 25 year old man married with children who barely spoke English, was extremely misogynistic, and caused water to leak into the room beneath us-twice. This place could have been great. It could have had top notch amenities, great staff, and decent rooms. But, sadly, it was too good to be true. Abandon all hope ye who enter
I currently live here, and I am very happy with the way things turned out. The facilities and rooms I have are very cozy and I thoroughly enjoy living here. There is amazing study rooms, as well as a great gym open 24 hours for all residents. With all the amenities that come with the Summit, I really couldn't imagine living elsewhere. Also, Taylor, who is one of the staff at the Summit, has always been there to help me with whatever I need and that is something that also makes it an enjoyable experience to live here. She has helped me with move in, paperwork, etc. when I need it and that makes a huge difference to me. Overall, I love the Summit and what it has to offer.
Package room never close on time. Arrived at 7:57pm and be told that they just closed ‘2 minutes earlier’. Package takes several days react to pick up. How ridicules it is! Rude stuff, never solve problems and I would never live here any more!
Some good amenities. The one plus was the washer and dryer in the unit. No stove. Expensive. Space was small for what I paid and almost every light went out. Maintenance is intrusive and slow to respond when you actually need them. Sometimes it took me several days to get a package through their mail system, one time they left a perishable item out for days and never notified me it was there. The staff would roll their eyes at me when i asked to sign someone in through their ridiculous system. I also experienced something quite gruesome in this building that made me leave as soon as I could and really made me question if living there and going to drexel was the right choice. It wasn’t.
Absolutely awful living experience. The rooms are okay, but just pray you never have to deal with any of the staff. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. There was a month where I was struggling to pay rent, and I was told about a "rent hardship program" where they'd forgive a month of rent. Emailed who I had to, and I was told an application was sent in. Turns out, they now have no record of any application, and the rent hardship program doesn't apply to past payments, so now because of one of their mistakes I'm being forced to pay back all that + late fees
