The Thaxton

10,000 Stars!!! We planned a wedding in a whirlwind 6 weeks. Those 6 weeks could have been some of the most stressful of my life, but having our wedding and reception at The Thaxton helped to make everything stress free! Peter, Kim, Mad Dog, and all the other staff were hands down AMAZING. Everything worked like a well oiled machine. We rolled with the roaring 20's theme for all details of the wedding. All of my guests were stunned with the beauty of the venue, and many said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Kim made sure the ceremony was timed perfectly, and Mad Dog treated us like celebrities all night. They suggested special shots for the photographers and made sure our family was 'extra' well taken care of. My only complaint is that our wedding is over and I can't hit rewind! Please, if you are considering The Thaxton, just stop looking elsewhere and book it. It was the best decision of my wedding and I am so grateful we were able to have our wedding here!

Looooong overdue, and likely not as deserving of a "review" due to the time in between, but hey, here I am! I considered The Thaxton for my wedding back in 2012/2013. It didn't work out that time around, but I couldn't shake it so I held my 10 Year High School Reunion here in 2015! Top four points: 1) Peter was a pleasure to plan with even from out of state while living in Denver. Additionally, Mad Dog (Terry) was great to have onsite the night of the event too! They're both STL legends! 2) The Thaxton is a "one-stop-shop" from ambiance to food/beverage to setup to DJ. And on that note, The Thaxton's house DJ is encouraged... as he should be! DJ Uptown listened to every request I made (i.e. stayed with my playlist) and kept the music loud the entire night! 3) The menu was perfect! Chef Pierre executed to my vision entirely... cheeses & cured meats, hummus & olives, bbq grits & cheddar shrimp, pretzels & beer cheese, toasted ravioli & red peppers, and pulled chicken & hawaiian rolls! Hell yeah! 4) And, must we not forget about the Art Deco decor!!! NOTHING is required to bring this space to life! Totally turnkey and simply stunning. I felt like a baller sippin' on flavored Moonshine amongst the pretty people painted on the walls. Thank you, The Thaxton! We had a great time!

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Thaxton on 5/6/17. The day could not have gone more smoothly and that is due largely in part to the wonderful staff at the Thaxton. During the planning phase, I was blown away with how organized Peter (the owner) was. He knew exactly how our evening would flow the best and made great suggestions based on our needs. He was also always extremely responsive and helpful via email during this time. He was present to lead our rehearsal at the venue the day before the event, which as a nervous bride, put my mind at ease that everything was under control. On the day, we were able to access the venue early to take photographs, which was ideal due to our timeline. Throughout the evening him and his staff, notably Mad Dog, lead the evening flawlessly. Mad Dog's attention to detail was remarkable, including ensuring my husband and I were happy and being taken care of throughout the evening. We received nothing but praise from our guests on their experience at our event. The venue is absolutely unique and gorgeous. Our photos came out amazing. I could not be more happy with our experience here and would absolutely recommend this venue for not only weddings, but any larger event. We cannot begin to express our thanks to the venue staff!

Very cool venue for a wedding. Speak easy downstairs, must enter through alley... Just like prohibition.
