I've done two prints jobs here and had great results. The staff was helpful both through email and in person. I had some found some typos on my prints granted the document was on an 8 1/2 by 11 and they reprinted the file for me. They also offer cutting and trimming for custom jobs and scoring for folded prints. There's an excellent range of paper and finishes compared to the print shop near me. Make sure you plan ahead to give them time for printing and proofing.
If I could put 0 stars I would. This place has the worst customer service! Every single employee of this place told me a different estimate how much my work will cost. At first this one girl told me i can use my paper that she had examed and looked at and named me one price, then when i came back to print they didn't accept my paper and told me another price which i was fine with. When I got the prints something was wrong and it was my mistake, so i came back to redo it hoping for the same price because the changes were minor and a different employee named me another price which was a double of what i paid before. So I showed him a receipt he looked at it and said that his coworker made a mistake. I asked him if i could talk to the manager because i will not pay a double for the same job because they made a mistake. Then I came to talk to their "supposedly" manager a guy with a beanie who was a complete jerk to me. Not only he didn't want to honour their mistake, he was also extremely rude. He told me that we should both learn from our mistakes. I didn't come back to print the same thing 20 times for the same price, i came back for one copy and I don' t think their rudeness was necessary. I will never come back to that place!
I LOVE Village copier. I’ve been taking projects here for decades! Always totally happy w the work they do and the attention and care of the staff. this place is one of those great neighborhood institutions that make New York what it is. It has great karma and I hope they survive the pandemic.
Worst customer service ever. There was one guy, don't know his name but he wears a beanie. I had visited this place before and the same guy was a complete jerk. Needed to get a job printed, and got the same one printed before so my files were the same. But the last copy I gave wasn't printed out properly. On telling him what the problem was, that guy was really rude about it and clearly didn't know how to talk to his customers and told me that it wasn't necessary for me to take the job that they printed. He told me that they weren't going to change "a few pages" for their customers when it was their fault. Just to make it worse, this was my final project. So if you have a large job to get printed, i would never recommend this place. Honestly don't know how they get customers when they don't know how to treat them. Completely disgusted.
Extremely long wait 30 minutes until I was able to talk to someone and not enough staff taking orders or doing work. The staff member that I interacted with was not very nice and seemed to have a distaste for humans/her job, which is fine and all, but at least pretend to be nice and helpful? It's also ridiculously $$$$$ for what they do. I would just find a different place that's cheaper or buy a printer.
TL;DR - Go here! Had a high profile job that was botched at another place and I needed somewhere that knew what they were doing. The turnaround time was extremely quick within 24 hours and it was done to perfection - broadway client was overjoyed at the result. Top notch service and staff is amazing!
James is great, very kind and work hard. I used this shop for color print out a little quantity. You can not bring in your own paper for print but if you would just print out small amount of your work, I recommend here. There is student discount too. Thank you James!
I give it one star for the price, since the quality isn't that good either. Besides the TIME management is really BAD. I picked up my file and found it has been bound at the wrong edge. They took it back and said would rebind it. That's fine people make mistakes sometime. However when I came back after 1h30min which they told me so, they just started to fix the file because I asked if my book was ready. And then I was told it would only take 5min! -- SO WHAT WAS YOU DOING IN THE PAST 90 MINUTES?!!!!! YOU WEREN'T EVEN BUSY! since you have all the time to hangout at the back! As I asked if my book was ready after 8 min, stuff replied without even a glance or any patience "It will be brought out when it's ready." GUESS WHAT?!! WHY DON'T YOU HAVE IT READY WHEN I CAME?!!!!!!!!
I found myself having to print out something the night before it was due, and as luck would have it, my printer had gone kaput. I worked quickly enough to get to the Kinkos around the block an hour before closing time, and asked them if they could print off a small amount of color copies maybe 10? on my own paper. I was refused, saying that they wouldn't be able to get it to me until 24 hours later, even though my order was small and they had been more cooperative in the past. So I got a taxi to another Kinkos, where the employees refused to use the paper that I brought in, even though I'd printed on it at Kinkos several times before. The workers were so rude that I started to cry on my way out I'm not usually Ms. Waterworks, I swear. I wasn't sure how I was going to get my project done on time, and as I was wandering around the neighborhood, hoping to happen upon some kind of magical solution to my quandary, there was Village Copier. The worker was nice, they were willing to print on my paper, and they printed my files right away. I wanted to hug them. The only downside was that the color on their general use color laser printer was not brilliant at all. Kind of par for the course for most laser printers, but a bit less here than most.
