History, culture, linking tradition with innovation: these are all part of the Bostonian ethos. Vilna Shul embodies all of these ideals as well. The downstairs is a mini museum to the history of synagogues in Boston, immigration, and contains snippets of a very interesting migration over the past 250 years. The upstairs, is a beautiful synagogue that is still undergoing restoration. If you enjoy history, it’s a great place to visit. If you enjoy architecture, it’s a great place to visit. Walking around the streets of Beacon Hill adds to the experience as well.
Under construction till late December 2019, will be coming back better than ever!! With New Community Room, New Class Room, Energy Efficient Upgrades, New Lighting, Structural Repairs, ADA Accessibility Upgrades, Acoustical Floor & Ceiling... and more!
Beautiful and historic space in the heart of Boston. A great place to visit! Plus, they hold events that are really fun! Can't wait to spend more time here and explore more.

Beautiful building. Friendly volunteer docents provide free tours of the historic upper floor synagogue and the ground floor has an exhibit of Jewish immigrants in varioys Boston neighborhoods. The center also does group tours and regular community events.
I visited this Jewish house of worship today to deliver materials for developer who is currently renovating certain portions of it. The building is vastly historic and has been standing for exceptional amount of time in comarison to other houses of worship in same area. Its worth taking a moment to peek inside and gaze at many antique Jewish momentos and artifacts they have here to display Also...building is on very quiet street and services offeref by this collaboration are always low key and and most of local community contributes to makeing this building and thier following part of their neighborhood.
Still in process.of being renewed. Unique place with meaningful programming.
Oldest immigrant era temple in Boston. The inside is gorgeous despite them trying to raise money to restortore it. Friendly staff
