More about how we operate:
Safety
Safety first! THBC encourages the physical safety of everyone in the shop. Please address unsafe conditions or behaviors directly or, if you prefer, report them to a Coordinator.
Anti-Oppression
THBC will not tolerate any oppressive behavior. Oppressive behavior is defined as any conduct that demeans, marginalizes, rejects, threatens or harms any living being on the basis of ability, experience, age, class/income level, cultural background, education, ethnicity, gender, immigration status, language, nationality, physical appearance, race, religion, self-expression, sexual orientation, status as a parent or other such factors.
No Personal Storage
We have zero personal storage at Third Hand. All bikes and parts in the shop are for sale, so if you leave your stuff it is liable to get sold.
Youth
People under 18 years old are welcome to utilize and participate in Third Hand, as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times while in the back of shop.
Disabilities
There are a wide variety of abilities among all people at Third Hand. We aim to reasonably accommodate folks with disabilities so that they may utilize the shop and participate in the organization. If significant accommodations need to be made, please contact us.
The Third Hand Bicycle Co-op strives to promote cycling as safe and environmentally responsible transportation.
We provide community members with the facilities and tools, as well as the skills and knowledge to help make cycling an essential part of their everyday lives.
