Thoroughgood House

My fourth trip to Virginia, different times of the year, different years, and this place is ALWAYS closed. My daughter lives in Virginia Beach and has never caught them open so she can see the inside of the house. Do not waste your time coming here!

I love history and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made our visit pleasant.

Our group attended the ghost tour, an interesting perspective on possible hauntings at the house. Unfortunately, it wasn't very scary! Adding a few dark pics for perspective.

Beautifully preserved piece of history.

Great learning experience about local history. Lead off video is better than most historical background videos. Just enough humor to keep it from being too dry. New museum is very well done. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the house and the Thoroughgood family history.

i grew up in this Neighborhood in the 60's. As kids we rode our bikes all around this brick home during the daytime hours only because We were told that sounds were heard coming from this house at night. Im sure that mystery has long since been resolved and im grateful that they are trying to preserve it and its history.
