Great dive bar. Stopped in several years ago with a group during a pub crawl. We had yummy fried apps and good service. Stopped again recently during a pedal bike outing. Awesome Halloween decorations. Super friendly service - drinks are a bit pricey.
I wanted to love Tommy's SO much...I loved the vibes and the waitress/bartender was lovely. However, the food was super underwhelming. I had a mac n' cheese that was just dripping with grease. When it came out, everything was just separated and looked like it was dunked in a bowl of oil. My partner got a sandwich that was fine but nothing special. I did appreciate the popcorn and the fries were pretty good. I would've asked them to take back the mac n' cheese but our waitress was just too nice and I didn't want to make her do that.
The service was a littlw slow, bit it is a dive bar, so not a bad thing in my opinion. The decor is what would expect from a dive bar and i thought it was cool. Had the 1904 Detroit Dogs with chili, soooo delicious. Also got the cheese burger and seasoned waffle fries. The fries were really good, the burger had a different flavor, not bad but different. All in all I wpuld come back.
I ate food from this place 3 times during the first week of December 2022. The food in this place is amazing! The menu includes a number of options for a health conscious customer like me, like the Greek salad and the salmon burger with sweet potato fries. In fact, the salad was so huge I had enough for two meals! I am not a drinker, so I know nothing about the service relative to bar service. One thing I can say is the inside of the place is a surprise after seeing the outside of the building. They really made the place look great. You need to go to the back room and read the neat historical wall if you’re into history.
Great experience we've had! Thanks to everyone, that was just mega!! We will come back, best wings, best staff!! Parking: 30 places de parking
Outstanding, local grounded beef burgers with owner‘s hospitality!
They don't do separate checks for a party of 4 2 couples and charged 20% gratuity! The server may have provided the worst service ever! Which it doesn't matter to her because she still got 20% gratuity. I wouldn't of ever tipped that much for the poor service recvd. We didnt even get menus or a QR code, just had to google them. Both Appetizers came out after our food, we actually had to ask for them! ...not even 1 of 4 of our dinners came out correctly. Never got refills on drinks...as we watched the waitress down her redbull, we sat with empty glasses. Only plus was atmosphere with pics on the walls and TVs and open later than most of the places around.
The owner came and seated us and welcomed us to Detroit. He went over the menu and made a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and the drinks were awesome. We had a great time.
Some of our coworkers recommended this as a "must do" and we're happy we did. Food was great and beer menu was long. Tommy gave us a private tour and shared some of Detroit's unique history over a beer. We enjoyed the tour and food service. We recommend this spot for anyone in town for business or pleasure.
Decent food, even the day after, lol. Reasonable prices. Kinda hidden away but, all the popcorn you can eat until your order comes out.Food: 4/5
