I went there today for the first time hoping to get good tortillas. I ended up disappointed, and I'm still looking for good tortillas in Philly. These tortillas were "cartonudas" as we say in Mexico. If you don't know what that means, I'll give you a hint... "carton' = cardboard, so we use that term when tortillas resemble cardboard... hard and no taste. and they stay hard after warming them up. Maybe I got a bad batch but for me coming from far just to en up with a kilo of cardboard, it is not worth trying again.
The best tortillas and tortilla chips! I try to stop by here every time in the neighborhood because store bought tortilla chips can’t cut it after you’ve had these locally made ones. Do yourself a favor and grab some pico and guacamole too.
We come here a lot for chips, tortillas, and salsas. The neon orange salsa is amazing and packs a lot of heat. Pico de Gallo is always tasty. Great service
You don't need fillings, just buy a stack and eat the tortillas by themselves like any snack.
I am completely addicted to everything in this shop. I love it.
Let me start off by saying that I frequent this place at least once a week because their chips and Pico de Gallo are amazing. However, today's experience was horrendous and makes me question if I'll ever go again. I paid for my chips and pico but immediately dropped the Pico from the counter. A complete accident. The woman showed no empathy towards the situation and didn't try to help me clean up the mess. Instead, a lovely customer helped me. When I politely asked if I could have another Pico given the situation and how often I come I hoped she'd cut me a break. Nope! She also yelled at the customer who was also trying to come to my defense. She scoffed at the idea despite my plea. Instead, sure suggested I buy another $7 pico. I understand it's a business but I'm also there to support that business quite often. The lack of empathy and lack of trying to keep a customer happy will make me question if I ever go back.
Their FRESH made corn tortillas are insanely cheap and delicious, Pico de gallo is also fresh made. Quick and friendly service.
As someone born and raised in mexico I was expecting more. The tortillas I got felt warm as if they were just made but when I ate them they were a little tough and the flavor wasn't good. The price was good though. Not sure if I am being too harsh but I know a little bit about good tortillas lol. The tortilleria in Bmore for example is the real deal.
Their salsas and prickly pear salad are very good and deserve the review. I gave up on finding truly great tortillas in America some years ago. These are probably as good as they can get here.
I can’t say anything that hasn’t been said already, it is definitely a 5-star spot. They have all the basic ingredients to make a solid authentic taco dish: AMAZING FRESH TORTILLAS, Cotija cheese, green salsa, red salsa,FRESH CHIPS, I think they had limes and onions too can’t remember seeing cilantro... everything but the protein which you can find at nearby vendors. If you want the best taco you’ve ever had start by upgrading your basic ingredients. These Tortillas can make the worst prepared proteins edible. Undercooked chicken? Pork taste like dried wood? Hand slipped when seasoning the steak? Tofu still taste like tofu? These tortillas are so good it’ll make your incompetence in the kitchen futile.
