The wrong parts were order twice now. A gentleman by the name of Wes was trying to help get the parts shipped out of the warehouse. He was great with communication but at the the end of the day wrong parts where sent out twice. I haven’t even cooked with this grill. The temp sensor went out on the burn in and the grill got hot. It ended up melting the fan and the wiring harness. I have had this TimberlineXL for almost two months and haven’t been able to use it. $3800 for nothing extremely disappointed in Traeger and the customer service. Don’t recommend!!
bought a grill from traeger.com and out of the box it didn't work as it was supposed to and paid $4800. The first week I did a lot of research because I like to find the problems myself ! but nothing works as supposed. No luck here ! Can’t connectthe grill to wifi, try everything ! Flame sensor error so the grill go up and down…cook top doesn’t work!!! All this out of the boxe??? Oh and the grease pot catch water and don’t know from where? Customer service was useless and a supervisor call me last week and was suppose to call me back the day after, still wating.never see a poor service like that… so I decided to call back on Friday after 10 days of waiting and they told me that when the supervisor comes in to work, he will call me… I'm still waiting. I asked to be reimbursed but they don't want to claim that I took it out of the box? How do you know if a device works if it's in the box. They don't want to exchange it for me either? He would like to send me parts so that I can fix it myself, I refuse because I am disabled and it is a new grill for $4800….did complain at better business bureau! Will see!
We have had this grill for less than a year and it has caught on fire 4 times. We have called Traeger each time to notify them and get help. They have done NOTHING. We will NOT be buying another Traeger. For spending $1000 on a grill to have it catch on fire and almost burn down your house is absolutely ridiculous. I was really hoping they would warranty a little better considering the amount of money you spend on it.
Really wanted this to be a good post about the Traeger grills but I can't give it. Started off great and worked great for the 1st couple of cooks. Then started cutting off mid cook. Long story, but short version, I feel like I'm a Traeger technical support employee. Working with many different CS rep all having me do something different with the grill. I have spent more time on the phone with cs than grilling, honest true I thought from day 1 it was a controller issue but was told that was impossible.. now after 4 months they think it is a controller issue.. asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to Joe Edwards who promised to expedite the correct parts. Had to call back in today to find out where the parts are and told parts were not expedited and will be here the following week. ordered a new grill from a different company just to have a working grill.
Bought this Traeger grill because I wanted to try something different. Got from Costco 4/22. Had multiple issues and trouble shot the tech support. Labor Day weekend it stopped working. 2 months later and multiple part replacements it still doesn’t work. Traeger doesn’t QA/QC parts. Try to escalate issue put on hold for long waits. Very disappointed and discussed with traeger. May end up returning. If they ever are able to fix this
I recently purchased a Timberline XL. It had an electrical issue after a little bit. Customer service got right on it. Got me a full replacement grill instead of fixing it. I couldn’t be more happy with the customer service. I would highly recommend this grill to anyone!! It’s truly amazing!!
Ridiculously overpriced and DOES NOT WORK! Sales process was tremendously cumbersome and time consuming Shipments came piece-mail and took over a month Installation was tedious and too time consuming Horrible product. worked 5 times before it would not turn on. Support Phone number was out of service on 4 occasions. Support calls took hours for them to answer the call. They placed me on hold for hours. Phone call disconnected 3 times. Managers never returned phone calls. Outsourced call center barely understands English and when they do, they are unable to solve problems, or follow through with what they said. corporate emails go unanswered.
You will spend all of your time fixing it! A year and a half ago, I bought a Traeger PRO 575 grill and all I have done is spend my time on the phone with customer service and manually repairing this grill. If you love spending your weekends fixing grills and talking to customer service, these grills are for you! I have been troubleshooting it for so long that by the time I actually asked for a refund they claimed I was to far out of the refund time even though the grill is still under warranty! That sounds legit right? Well I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and if you are looking at buying a pellet smoker read this review right here. You will be repairing it, you will be spending your weekends and free time talking to customer service. It will be another chore for you to do. Not to mention the joy of repeating yourself every time you call in. I maybe had the same conversation 10-12 times. Imagine going through the same 10 troubleshooting steps every time you call in for the same problem. Everytime you call in its going to be your whole morning, going through the same explanation, working on it, taking all the pieces off and putting them back on. Occasionally they will send you a replacement piece that you have to repair, so get youtube out and follow along with the instructions. Now imagine months of this, always on your to do list, never being able to actually use the $500+ piece of tech you just bought. Don't waste your money, don't waste your time, don't buy Traeger.
Been dealing With Traeger for months now trying to address a defective unit. They’ve thrown every possible part at me to replace. Fired up the Traeger, heats up to 425, time to throw a NY Strip on, come back 10 minutes later to check on the steak, temps down to 210 degrees and dropping. Transferred $ 26 of good steak to the frying pan to cook it. Asked Traeger for a full replacement. Can’t do it as I purchased it through Home Depot. So they send a repairman out to take a look. The controller Traeger sent me was no good, replaced it, fired it up, right up to 425. Great good to go! Next day I throw in a cheap piece of meat to test it. Up to 425, good to go……….. nope, temp took another major decline, dropped and dropped then shut off. Not good. Called Traeger again, must be my 10th call maybe. Explained the issue again and wanted ti go through the entire diagnostics script over the phone, I declined and asked for a replacement. “Sorry can’t do that, you bought it from Home Depot.” Last weekend I get an exciting call, I was told a new one was being shipped out. Great. Received an email from Traeger to get ready, my new Traeger is on its way, will arrive on 5/5/22. FedEx tracker said unit will arrive by 8:30 p.m. on 5/5/22. Wife stayed home to receive the Traeger as someone needed to be there to sign for it. Get a call from FedEx today, sorry, delivery is delayed will be tomorrow now. Called Traeger back, call number 11 now asking for a refund as I a done with Traeger. Sorry, no refund as I bought it at Home Depot, I would have to request a refund from Home Depot. So they originally refused to replace the Traeger because it was purchased from Home Depot, but now they are? Im confused. I asked the CS rep what the number to the Corporate office was so I could deal with them directly. They didn’t know what the Corporate number was. What kind of company shields their corporate number from the public? That’s just not good business. Long story short, please consider a different product like Pit Boss which is a good quality product as I had one before and loved it, thought I would try “The cream of the crop, Traeger”, bad choice on my part. Avoid avoid avoid Traeger! Don’t do it.
I'm deeply disappointed in Traeger. I purchased the Ironwood 650 about 2.5 years ago and had to replace the drip tray and rear vent because of rust. Most recently the grease channel rusted through and Traeger is not going to honor the warranty. I worked with Zane Smith Traeger and he wasn't the most friendly person to work with and pretty much said if your grill is in a pool cage I live in Florida then chemicals from your pool rusted the grill. If that's the case why is my 15 year old Weber gas grill not rusting? I'll tell you why it's because Traeger is made from cheap Chinese metal. This was a very poor excuse to get out of either fixing or replacing my $1200 grill. I guess the Florida attorney general should ban Traeger grills since they can't be inside a pool cage that is 98% screen and many people have them in Florida. If your looking for a smoker don't buy a Traeger, buy a Recteq smoker. Recteq customer service is fantastic and they honor their warranty unlike Traeger.
