I was pleased to see this location change from previous restaurant. Service was slow, food ok, view great. All seems solved with this new restaurant. No table service...just order food and grab table. Burger was pretty good. Beer selection was limited but good. The inside is nice and spacious with great views. Unfortunately the outside deck is under construction and staff said should be done in about 2 weeks. What was really nice was they still had outside seating in a very basic picnic table setting next to the deck area. Small group of people enjoying this little oasis, beer, view. Looking forward to coming back once deck is complete.
Magnificent view of DC skyline and planes taking off and landing at the Reagan National Airport from Triple Craft's deck. The burger was decent but the onion rings were the highlight of the meal. It was crispy and not greasy. The Vanilla craft shake I ordered was good too. Watching planes land while eating your meal was definitely a treat.
Triple Craft is nirvana for avgeeks and airplane spotters. About as close to LAX's In-N-Out as we will get in the DC Area. Stopped in and enjoyed a great pitcher of beer and some chicken fingers. The food was forgettable but service and setting are tough to beat.
Too bad it's not open a little later. Potentially a great little bar. Large deck overlooking the Potomac. Close views of the planes departing Reagan National and of sail boats going in and out of the marina. Lots of Mallards waddling about. Pretty decent selection of craft brews on tap. Maybe I should keep this place a secret!
Can't beat the focus on good food, good views, soaking up some sunshine, and watching the planes take-off. One of my favorite spots - so glad they're open for the Spring/Summer!
Great outdoor spot for lunch during a break on a bike ride. Outdoor grill for burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches. Our daughter's only complaint? No fries! At least while the indoor dining room is closed for the pandemic.
I'd give 5 stars except it took way too long to get that tasty burger I ordered. It was so juicy and well seasoned. The fries however were just lukewarm. I'd recommend trying this place for the view too. Go early because the hours aren't nearly as late as I think they should be.
Our first visit last year was great. We tried to go tonight and it is not in operation. Apparently the building has been condemned, so a food truck is basically operating on the deck...and they were out of everything but fries by 5pm. Said tomorrow is last day of the season for them. Really a shame, it's an amazing outdoor spot, especially if you have kids. Hopefully they can get the building up to code for next year.
Bit delayed on my review, but had to comment: Awesome atmosphere plane watching and casual chilled and Great customer service. I’m not normally a burger gal, but this was by far one of the best I’d had in a long time! It was longer prep then say, a five guys or other chain restaurant, and I’m OK with that because it was made to order. Not on the beaten path, so I like that it’s a hidden gem that replaced one of our favorite restaurants from the 80s and 90s Heading back today!
I had wanted to try this place for over a year. It's hard to go because they have odd hours and are closed for half of the year. I got a boozy milkshake and it just tasted like creamy bourbon, not a vanilla milkshake with bourbon. The burger and fries were good, but not mind-blowing so I was let down.
