No frills bakery that serves up some of the most delicious meat patties I've ever tasted. Leave the car at home because you're more likely to catch a double parking ticket while you order since parking is non existent. If you're craving some really good patties, take the subway to Utica Avenue; the joint is only half a block from the exit at Schenectady Avenue.
The food is definitely freshly made, but I'm not a fan of the beef patty, it's way too wet. The chicken patty is curry chicken and there is waaay too much bread in the plantain tart, the actual tart is tasty though.
Been going here for years, I love everything they make here. My mom always places orders for Duck Bread at Christmas and it's delicious.
Simple bakery with great customer service and nice tasting treats. Currants roll was rich, pattie dough was softer than I would like but there was a lot of beef. It was the first time that I had a plantain tart. It's too much sweetness for me.
Ive been going here for yrs and they food have just gotten better and better. The patties are always fresh and your in and out unless some real greedy person comes to buy boxes of patties. ..lol but the only reason they don't get 5's is because they're not making fresh coco bread for the patties and i think that's a must SO TODAY IS 4/11/19 AND I REVISITED THIS LOCATION FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW AND I MUST SAY THE QUALITY OF THE PATTIES HAVE GOTTEN BETTER. I USUALLY HAVE THE VEGGIE PATTIES AND THE RECIPE MUST HAVE CHANGED CUZ THEY'RE LESS SPICY AND MORE FLAVORFUL AND ALSO THEY ARE STUFFED NOW WHICH IS ALWAYS GOOD...LOVE THIS PLACE
A grab and go place. I really enjoyed the beef patties here! I would skip the Coco bread, which I didn't think added much to the overall experience. I was kind of surprised that the guy behind the counter was Asian too. Authentic joint though.
Soul food, great sweet potatoes and collard greens. Also their whiting fish was excellent
okay, the patties here are incredible -- i've been craving them every day since i first tried them. they've got beef, chicken and veggie and all three are great -- the pastry is flakey, the fillings are substantial and so wonderfully seasoned and spiced. it's a bare bones store but such a treat -- don't miss it!!!!
$3.00 for a beef patty. $2.75 for a vegetable patty. The small bun for $11.00 ! And this is before Easter no no no to much. Sad to say. Maybe because there is no competition. I patronage this bakery for years and my family. This is too much maybe when minimum wage go up I can buy something here again. As for now I will go up the block at Utica Ave.
Me and my family have been going to this Bakery since the 80s. It's quite possibly thee best place on planet Earth to get freshly baked beef patties. The taste, smell, flaky soft golden crust and spices haven't changed in over 30yrs. If you're looking for a place to taste real Jamaican beef patties look no further, this is the real deal, best you'll ever try.
