Tyku Bar

I've lived here Virginia Beach for a while and I always notice that this location changes often. It hasn't changed in a while because Tyku has taaaaken over and is here to stay. I rarely go to bars and such, but I came to this location because of a Yelp event that I attended. The drinks were good. My favorite was the the BlueBerry Lemonade out of the everything on the menu. I asked Marcus, the greatest bar tender at Tyku a bunch of questions and he had all the answers. Basically, everything that we were drinking were "testers" on what they were going to add to their menu. I was really disappointed that Tyku did not have the food ready. The lines were long and I never really have a problem waiting in line. Actually, waiting in line gave me a front row "standing seat" on watching all the awards go out. It was finally nice to put faces to names. Congratulations to everyone that won. .. OKAY BACK TO THE FOOD. So a lot of people were talking about the food situation. I was only there for the fries and the cheese quesadillas. I feel like a lot of people were expecting so much, however it is a bar and normally the kitchens are never that big. It was rumored that there was also lumpia and chicken tenders that were given out .. bummed I missed that. The neon lights were really cool and I believe that their slogan is even better. "Every moment is worth a shot" LOL .. shot .. bar. *slaps knees*. This location did have a smoking area outside. Well, it was a deck area however, I just saw people smoking out there. Cool place!

We had fun here! We did have sort of a minor issue involving a dancer, however he was not a formal employee of Tyku and they still took care of the issue in an extremely friendly and timely manner. Management was very courteous and respectful regarding the situation. Additionally, would still recommend visiting if you’re looking for a fun club atmosphere! Also not sure who the DJ was but the playlist was fantastic the whole time we were there.

Great experience. The club is small but the night we went was just enough people. Not dead and not over crowded. We were served by the bartender Morgan I think that was his name. He was super nice and speedy. We would definitely go back.

A bar that's neither bad or great. I went here after 9pm and there was a decent amount of people here. The music is mixed and the bartender was able to make all the drinks I requested dispite him never making them before. Not the best club / bar in VA beach but this place still is a good alternative if you cannot get into that great bar or your favorite spot is over crowded.

So much fun! Great music. We had the VIP section and got a bottle of captain Morgan. The girls were very attentive to us. We had a great time.

Great location. It was walking distance from my room.. Server was great!! The only reason for 4 stars is, all the hookahs was getting clean on a Sunday 2/25 it was my bday weekend & wanted to try something new!! Otherwise, GREAT PLACE!!!!

Tyku has so much potential, but for a place to have been open for a few years now, I'd think that they would have put some of their profits back into the business. The bar and the restroom were nice, however...... the hookah counter, DJ booth, dance floor, and VIP section had basic setups, at best. Oh yeah, and there was a tall, slender white dude behind the bar borderline DRUGGIE looking that thought that he was a bottle-flipping trickster from Vegas who continuously skipped over me because I only asked for some water for my sister-in-law. After a few minutes of being passed over, I had some younger ladies order a water with their drink requests, and it came quickly. She paid for her drinks and tipped the guy, then she slid the cup of water directly in front of me at the bar. Once the bartender saw what she had done, he reached for my $5 bill that I had under cell phone on the bar counter and I told him, "Nah, B. This ain't for you. You helped them not me." So he grabbed my cup of water and threw it away.

Love the drinks here! Atmosphere has a really awesome vibe. Bartenders are my favorite! Definitely worth stopping by when you're visiting the strip.

Awesome experience..wonderful bartenders. Humble patreons and awesome music all the time. The happy hour is every tourists wet dream. The ocean front just leveled up.

My friends and I went there last night. The staff was great and accommodating! Food was delicious and the DJ rocked! We will definitely be back!
