I went to valor for all four years, and thus am a credible source.
-the administration knew that I was in an abusive situation, as i had seeked out help in the form of people i should be able to get help from: teachers, counsellors, coaches. It was within the administration's full power to get me help and they didn't do anything. Even when the school learned I had was in danger of suicide because i felt so hopeless, they didn't do anything. They, in fact, specifically prevented teachers from trying to help me. I learned all this after graduating and escaping my abusive home. Valor is motivated to advocate for wealthy parents, not the students. Beyond your ability to kick a ball, Valor does not care about the well-being of the students at all.
-not all the teachers there are qualified, there was even one teacher there who informed us, the students, that she did not have any kind of teaching qualifications but Valor agreed with her sentiments that "God was calling her here" and allowed an unqualified person with a degree in sports medicine to teach Bible classes and physical science classes.
-almost none of the teachers act professionally when it comes to in class debates and the like and will truly argue with students on their views which is highly unethical when you consider the HUGE power difference.
-the administration threatened several openly and closeted gay students for being gay.
-Valor administration and teachers will try their hardest to brainwash all students into their specific point of view. Going so far as to bully and shame students for believing differently. It is never okay for a teacher to alienate their students by assuring the class that gay people and transgender people are disgusting and being manipulated by satan, or by claiming that racism doesn't exist in the united states.
-the biggest thing I got from Valor was a severe distrust of authority. Authority at this school will stand idly by as students get hurt, suffer emotionally and mentally, are shamed and bullied for being different, and then tell those same students that they "care".

There are four students from my extended family who have attended Valor and we could not be more pleased with our experience. It is a shame that those with personal vendettas who have never attended are allowed to leave reviews. Also, this IS a CHRISTIAN school which means it teaches from a biblical perspective. Read the bible and learn what it teaches. If you have a problem with that then don't go to Valor! The teachers here are incredibly talented with top credentials, but more than that they care deeply about their students. None of my family was involved in sports but that did not matter as their arts programs as well as general academic offerings are top notch.

I heard about some fake kids but they were cool. Some people are stupidly rich and don’t know it.

Before I start, I would like to say that this article contains sensitive issues, and, though I know is quite lengthy, contains very important information concerning the students and staff of this institution. I currently attend this school. I enjoyed the first week of school until a certain topic came up. Homosexuality, as well as a few other grey area topics in Christianity such as the "roles" of males and females. Teachers have either said nothing about these, are had a VERY conservative, and vocal, stance on it. I am gay, and terrified. Some of my teachers have yelled about such topics. I quote (while yelling): "There are words now that didn't even exist when I was a kid. Transgender?! Bisexual?! People think that if they don't like their gender, they can change it on a sudden whim, or that just because you are a feminine man or masculine girl, you have to like your own gender due to increasing social pressure." After this, several students shouted things like "Amen" and "So true". This bigoted language DOES NOT belong in a 9th grade English classroom. The same teacher has also spoken about how women should have "lesser jobs" then men. This makes me terrified. I cannot come out, and am worrying about spending high school hiding my true self and worrying constantly about the possibility of my secret being discovered. No child, whether gay or straight, male or female, should be taught this awful behavior in a public place. I understand different viewpoints and upbringings, but such verbal and extreme laments should not be forced upon unsuspecting high schoolers. I feel so saddened by this. I know if I come out, like I did at my public middle school, I will be bullied and harassed even more than I was at my middle school. Thank you for your time.
