Vaughan's Public House

Im very happy to have found this place randomly. What an awesome atmosphere. “Public Houses” are a dime a dozen, but this is easily tops of all the ones I’ve visited from Northampton down to new haven. Beer selection was good but I don’t remember seeing too much on tap. Overall a great bar with a great atmosphere!

I eat only two items on their limited menu, but that's OK with me. It's an Irish pub. There's something about Vaughan's that makes you want to return anyway. Maybe it's the fact the fare is on the better-end for Irish pubs. Or the ambience is warm. Or that it's tucked away on a side street, rather than being yet another Italian restaurant on a main street.

One of the best bars in downtown Hartford. The only drawback is how crowded this place tends to get. On weekend nights, you'll find yourself jostling for elbow space at the bar and the bartender's attention. This place is very popular (and fun) on St Patrick's day though. Although it's an Irish bar, it has recently started carrying New England craft beer as well.

Always have a great time here. My friend loves this place. The food is great and the drink are fair if you're a beer drinker, this is the place for you. The service is always great and the guys always have a friendly smile.

The food and drinks were decent. Happy hour food specials are good value. It wasn't crowded when I was there.
