Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

This place is really terrible. I've been enough times to know. Bar tenders are slow and unattentive. The table service is very slow and not very personable. Prices are generally high too unless you come for happy hour. What really made me write this review was the pathetic excuse for nachos they delivered to my friend and I. A plate of chips with one handful of cheese (90% of chips were not covered in any cheese), pico, and sour cream does not cut it. The chili addition looked like canned chili. Additionally the uncovered chips were visibly burnt. The kicker is that the plate was $15.00. I will never be buying food or beer at this place again because of this experience and past underwhelming experiences.

This was my first and last visit here. I arrived about 6:30 PM to meet friends that are staying at the attached hotel. I ordered a Pomegranate margarita (since it was National Margarita Day) and the waitress promised it was not an overly sweet drink. The drink was ok, nothing to write home about.. At 7:15 we asked for a second round. When the drinks came they were nothing like the first ones. Mine was sugary sweet and disgusting and my friend was delivered a whiskey sour when she asked for a margarita. The waitress stated that they had run out of sour mix so the bartender was winging it. Really? Maybe I should "wing" it on paying the bill. Also, who runs out of sour mix on National Margarita day? From there things went bad to worse. The waitress assured us that the drinks would be better. Mine was worse than the last and the waitress said the bartender added MORE agave since it was too sweet. Dumb move. Needless to say we switched to beer. I will not be back...I wish there was a 1/4 star rating...

Drinks were good and strong. Steak tips were chewy and under cooked. Service was good.

It took all of 5 min to be acknowledged that I was waiting to be seated. (By myself) then ounce seated, waited for my order to be taken, waited over an HOUR for my grilled chicken sandwich with no bun and fries! They weren't slammed. Empty tables available... then had to wait for the check to come and for it to be picked up....2 hours!! For a bunless grilled chicken. To top it off, they brought out the ketchup in packets!? I have a 30 room block with the hotel it's attached to. I'm going to have to warn them. :(

Worst service ever! Empty tables all over the place and the hostess told us it would be about 25 minutes... She called our cell phone, we answered, she hung up... Walked up to her to ask if she just called and I stood there 5 minutes while she had a conversation, not one glance my way, me standing 3 feet away... I was never rude or impatient at any point, so I dont understand being ignored... She finally acknowledged me and sat us at a table that had been open the whole time 35 minutes after arriving... We then sat there at our table for 1 hour and 20 minutes with not one employee glancing our way... Again, not once being rude... We finally left, amazing! I don't understand how a place like this with a load of employees that don't give a damn about customers can make any kind of profit or stay in business at all... The only thing I could come up with is that the place is just a front for money laundering... Doesn't deserve 1 star, don't go, horrible place!!
