Traded in my used Trek towards a new model. Very polite staff and ensured the proper fitment for me on my new bike. Tom was very helpful. Would shop here again.
The guys here have always been extremely helpful. I've been a handful of times in my almost 2 years living in the neighborhood, for various repairs, part replacements, etc., and I've always been helped quickly and at a reasonable price. The owner is really straightforward and knows his stuff, and the mechanics are extremely skillful and knowledgeable as well. Don't be scared off by a few negative reviews! Just go in, ask for help, and you'll get exactly the help you need!
I bought a gravel bike here and had a great experience. Tom, the owner, educated me on a variety of things regarding biking and he is an amazing source of knowledge and experience. As for some of the comments about standing around waiting to be serviced, that is part of the culture of the store. Bikers often strike up conversation with each other and share ideas. When I have needed a quick in and out like when I needed advice on my bike rack, I just asked and Tom came out and advised me right away. If you are a neighborhood person, this shop is a great resource!
I have never been cool guy’d as hard as at this shop. I just wanted to use a pair of calipers to measure some vintage handlebars my own pair across the country unfortunately. The worker surreptitiously thought they could tell the bar diameter without calipers we are talking a 0.6mm difference, and he informed me that the bars were 26.0mm and not 25.4mm, purely by eye. I have never before seen someone who can tell this difference by eye. I’ve worked in the automotive space for a long time too FSAE, FSGP, Tesla, amongst others, so color me shocked — sure, maybe tolerances are probably not as strict for bikes as they are for racecars but 0.6mm for a torque bearing joint is absolutely unacceptable. After I got my calipers back, I naturally measured the bars using a 3 point averaged diameter measure usually, you want to take a couple points of measurement because the bars may not have perfect curvature. Guess what? They’re 25.4mm. Either this worker was misinformed or just didn’t want me using their calipers for <5 mins, but I’d rather have a measurement be missing than incorrect, because that is how mechanical accidents happen.
Wanted to sincerely thank you & the gentleman, Pokémon, who tuned up my bike last week. I was so lucky to have gotten a checkup last Summer, so my bike was road ready for COVID. Being mobile to catch sunsets nightly was a life saver & getting it the TLC once you opened back up was perfect timing. You got me back on the road & the ride is super smooth. Mr. Kim, I really appreciate all you and your team do to keep the community rolling!
I've been going to Verrazano Bike shop for the last 2 years while training for a triathlon and I have to say its the best bike shop around. Tom and his mechanics know more bikes than any other bike shop and mechanic I've had to deal with over the course of 2 yearswhich were a few. Tom fixed problems other Trek specialized mechanics created. I highly recommend Verrazano bike shop for anyone getting into biking or someone who is an avid biker. They have a huge selection of bikes, for all levels, and the service you get here you won't find anywhere else. Thanks for all the help Tom.
Won’t be going back. They gave me a 2nd brake lever that was a different brand lever without my realizing it until I got home. Then they told me that the lever I had installed won’t be made anymore, so now they took my money and I have a brand I didn’t want for one of the levers. Don’t switch things out without informing the customer, they took my money and that’s shady business.
Great Shop, coming across the bridge from staten island isn't an issue! I went from bringing a older bike there for parts and service to buying a new Trek within a month because of the professionalism, attention, patience and product knowledge. Highly Recommended from beginner riders - pro riders.
Walked in & saw men in the back cursing, I guess that was casual talking for them. Nobody came over to me. One worker there only helping somebody. Prices were absolutely insane. I give 0 stars to this craphole business, my opinion my review, I do me & you do you.
Got a bike for my mom today. The owner was super helpful and patient. Great experience.
